To,
The Recruitment Team,
Cargill, Inc.

Subject: Application for the position of Associate at Cargill, Inc.

Dear Sir,

I am writing to express my interest for the role of Associate at Cargill, Inc. A current student at ISB, I became interested in
Agricultural Sector of India after my deep interactions with Prof Aaditya Dar. Using my knowledge of the sector, I along with
my team presented solution for India to become leader in Agricultural Space by 2050 as part of Arthur D. Little innovation
challenge. Our solution won us National first runner up award. Similarly, we proposed a GTM strategy for Amazon to gain
20% market share in the Agri input space as part of Amazon Ace Challenge campus finalists. An engineering degree from
BITS-Pilani, entrepreneurial experience in the healthcare industry and deep interest in Agricultural Space has infused in me
three attributes that I believe make me a perfect fit for this role: Analytical thinking, Leadership, and knowledge in the domain
of healthcare and agriculture industry.

#1 Leadership & Entrepreneurial mindset

The market size of the global nutraceutical industry was around $319 billion at the end of 2017, and was expected to grow
at a CAGR of ~9 percent. After visiting Baddi, which is the pharmaceutical manufacturing hub in India, I realized that the
nutraceutical industry presents immense possibilities for growth and innovation, experimentation, and market expansion.
Thus, along with my brother, I decided to enter this space and have spent the last three years building a pharmaceutical
company, Mensa Futura Life Sciences, focused on off-exclusivity drugs and nutraceuticals from the ground up.

Quickly realizing that the industry worked on trust, we partnered with F.D.A. accredited top pharmaceutical manufacturers
in the country. Though this meant huge batch sizes and burning cash at the inception, it resulted in product differentiation
over the longer run. As part of this journey, I gained practical experience in negotiating effective deals with the top pharma
suppliers and building a loyal customer base. I also learned about the fundamentals of the healthcare industry, mainly its
distribution channel and product marketing.

#2 Analytical skills and Penchant for technology

I have always explored new technologies to improve the efficiency of my work. For instance, even though Excel is widely used
as a tool for data analysis, my inquisitiveness led me to learn Python programming on-the-job, all by myself at Citi. Using
Python, I analysed trade positions that were counted twice for risk calculation and saved $22M in market risk charges. My
efforts were lauded & I became the youngest to be promoted to a Manager. Ultimately, using the financial knowledge I
gained through CFA L1 and my experience in Python, I was able to lead a team of Python Developers and Business Analysts
to develop components for firm’s first cross-asset full revaluation platform. This platform provided a one-stop risk metrics
delivery platform for market risk managers, and supports full-revaluations for daily risk management (example: VaR, FRTB
Expected Shortfall), internal stress testing, and regulatory stress testing (example: CCAR).

I believe a leader is only as strong as their team. Thus, I invested heavily in my team by structuring the analysis for them &
holding weekly knowledge transfer sessions on finance and statistics. This helped them develop their analytical prowess and
financial knowledge. For my efforts, I received the highest rating, under leadership qualities, in the yearly upward appraisal
cycle.

Having worked in the healthcare & finance domains so far, I aspire to build a career in corporate strategy post my MBA. I am
confident that with my passion, coupled with my entrepreneurial mindset and leadership experience, I will be able to excel
in my career at Cargill.

Thank you in advance. I have attached my resume herewith for your kind perusal and I look forward to discussing my skills
and experience in more detail in an interview.

Thanks & Regards,

Navdeep Bajaj
