V. ESSAY (5 points)

1. As a youth, do you agree with Rizal’s famous quotation, “The youth is the hope of the nation”? Why or
why not? Explain your answer in not less than 50 words.

In my opinion, I agree with Rizal that the youth are the nation's hope. Youth is extremely
important in our society. Youth have the most recent ideas and bring social reforms that have the potential
to solve societal issues and conflicts, as well as change the way the world works. Today, youth are being
shaped and sharpened because they are the key to nation building and progress. Youth may lack life
experiences, but they have advanced thinking in technology, science, and the arts, as well as broad
perspectives in social relationships that can influence how society works. If amino acids are the building
blocks of life, then youth are as well. They are the foundation of the nation and thus a valuable asset in
achieving change, progress, and success.

VI. CREATING (5 points)

1. Create a quotation that shows the relevance of the Life and Works of Rizal to the Filipinos of today

He has passed away, but his legacy will live on and be known forever.

This quote implies that he will be a part of history as well as the lives of all Filipino students. He
left us with a powerful legacy that will serve as a constant reminder to be patriotic and nationalistic
whenever we feel we are losing it. His life and works represented resistance and independence, leaving a
legacy that will live on in perpetuity and be known by all Filipinos. When he died, his comrades
arose...and remain so to this day, thanks to him.
