MATTHEW 21:9
FRANK BOWLING
From Your Pastor FBOWLING@EASTMONT.ORG
It’s hard to believe it has been two years since many churches made the extremely difficult decision to cancel in-person worship
services for Easter Sunday. I mean it’s Easter – the most highly attended church services of the year. It’s the one Sunday where
we all make sure we’re there, right? After all, isn’t the resurrection the defining mark and ultimate proof of the Christian faith?
I can hardly wait to gather with our faith family here at Eastmont for that most anticipated Sunday of the year!
But what about those in our community who aren’t active in a local church? What about those who may have never been to an
Easter Sunday service?
Researchers say:
Americans google “Church” around Easter more than any other time of the year
63% of Americans say a personal invitation from a friend or neighbor would be effective in getting them to visit a church
8 out of 10 people will say “yes” to a personal invite to church
7 out of 10 unchurched people have never been invited
Only 2% of church members invite an unchurched person to church
The truth is, there are a lot of people who are not planning on going, or who have never gone, to church who would come this
Easter if only we would invite them.
Eastmont, we have been given the opportunity to shine the light of Christ brightly in the River Region, so as an act of love for our
family, coworkers, friends, and neighbors let us be the exception. May the Eastmont faith family exceed the 2% rule and see
what God will do in the lives of those we have the opportunity to invite this Easter.
