WHEREAS, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) envisions a
society where the poor, vulnerable and disadvantaged individuals, families and communities are
empowered for an improved quality of life and takes protection of the poor and marginalized
members of society as its main mission, herein after referred to as "Social Protection";

WHEREAS, LGU’s provide health and social welfare services to its constituents, which
include programs and projects on child and youth welfare as sanctioned by RA No. 7160
otherwise known as the “Local Government Code of 1991”

WHEREAS, RA No. 11037 mandated the DSWD in coordinanation with the LGU’s
concerned to implement Supplemental Feeding Program in Day Care Centers or in any other
facility used for such purpose;

WHEREAS, DSWD and LGU Malapatan are willing and able to partner with each other
to deliver a package of services agree to commit each other to such pertnership through this
Memorandum of Understanding (MOU);

WHEREAS, the terms and condition stipulated in the Moa is beneficial to the
Municipality and its people,

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Sangguniang Bayan of Malapatan,

Sarangani Province, to authorize Hon. Salway D. Sumbo Jr., Municipal Mayor, to, for, and in
behalf of the Municipal Government of Malapatan enter into Memorandum of Understanding
(MOU) with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) represented by
Restituto B. Macuto , Regional Director for strengthened partnership in connection with the
Supplemental Feeding Program (SFP).
