This research study follows an integrated Input-Process-Output

(IPO) Model where variables are either influenced or correlated.

In the input frame, the research variables are the summary of

concepts sought to be identified by answering the research

questions under the Statement of the Problem. The process, are

procedure lay out the steps for collecting crucial data that will

construct a clear understanding of promotion on the internet that

makes use of social media platforms to achieve branding goals.

This will be accomplished by utilizing online survey

Questionnaires and inferring from previous studies to arrive at

the study's. This explains that the theory provides foundation on

the primary topic of the research Increasing Brand Recognition of

Small Food Businesses in Marikina City. The output is the results

that interpret from data collected. This is through the use of

online survey questionnaires and inferring back from the related

works to arrive at the desired output of the study – The

Effectiveness of Social Media in Increasing Brand Recognition of

Small Food Businesses in Marikina City.

IN STATISTICAL TREATMENT OF DATA

Researchers will total the data obtained for the study. The use

of formulas and statistical tools. The effectiveness of social


media in increasing the brand recognition of small food

businesses will be measured by calculating the estimated mean of

responses. The following criteria procedure will be used to

interpret the data collected from the study's respondents.

1. Mean (Ungrouped Data)

                       x bar=  ∑x/n

Where:

    ∑x = sum of all data

     N = number of the data involved

2. Mean (Grouped Data)

                       x bar= SUMMATION OF F TIMES X/n

Where:

∑ƒx = sum of the product of the number ratings and the

frequency of all ratings

To interpret the results, the table shows the description for the consumer ratings of social media
effectiveness in increasing brand recognition. A mean score of 4.20 to 5.00 suggests high
effectiveness. 3.40 - 4.19 suggests effective 2.60 - 3.39 Neither
effective nor ineffective, 1.80 - 2.59 suggests Ineffective and
lastly, 1.00 - 1.79 Highly ineffective, that’s the Description
for the Consumer Ratings.

• Why do you think that the theory is related to your chosen study?
- We think that the theory is related to our study because it talks about how social media is used to
promote businesses. It explains how it affects the perspective of the consumers and increases their
interest towards the brand.

- The theory of social media marketing attempts to explain the promotion of businesses through social
media as an essential section of the online marketing world which implicates how to do consumer
conversation on a website or any social media platform.

- The idea of the theory of social media marketing is evident in the current society where almost all
people from different parts of the world have access to social media. Because of this, businesses of all
kinds now have a chance to pique potential customers’ interest and encourage positive engagement and
interaction with their products using different platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and such.

• How will you create a survey to fulfill your objectives without directly asking them the questions?

In order for us to create a survey questionnaire to fulfill our objectives without directly asking them
the questions, we will use numerical ratings or frequencies such as EFFECTIVE, INEFFECTIVE, and highly
effective as choices for the respondents of our survey.

• In what way can you say that your study is quantitative?

We could say that the said study that we will conduct is quantitative as there is a large number of
subjects needed and that we are examining the relationship between several variables in our study.
Additionally, just like quantitative research, we are to seek patterns, average or predictions as well as
the range of people that can prove or somehow testify about the effectiveness of the social media in
promoting hence, we could say that our research is quantitative.

•What is your all study all about?

Our study is all about discovering how effective social media is in increasing the brand recognition of
potential customers to the small food businesses in Marikina. It tries to seek answers for the questions
stated in the Statement of the Problem like what social media platforms is the most effective to
familiarize consumers with the brand.

•What research variables did you use?

The research variables that we used are the social media which is the independent variable and the
brand recognition which is the dependent variable.

• How can you say that social media is really effective when other businesses are successful even
without the use of it?
The main purpose of the study is to find out whether social media is effective or not in increasing the
brand recognition of small food businesses. Shall the study find that businesses are and can be
successful without it, then that serves as our conclusion. Social media may be effective but can also not
be necessary.

•How will your study contribute to the existing body of knowledge?

Our study will contribute to the existing body of knowledge by giving ideas to business owners
whether what social media platform is most effective in promoting for their business specifically small
food businesses.

•Why did you choose this topic?

We chose this topic as we are curious too on how effective social media is in increasing brand
recognition of businesses. We may be able to also use this in the future when we decide to establish a
business. It will also help us, knowing we are consumers ourselves, on how we are being affected on
buying products and familiarizing with a brand by what we see on social media.

•What theories or concepts did you use?

The theory that we used is the Theory of Social Media Marketing by David Chaffey which explains
how important social media is in marketing a brand and establishing positive consumer behavior, as well
as the good relationship between potential customers and businesses. The concept that we used are
shown through the conceptual paradigm which is the Input-Process-Output. It involves the theory used,
the variables used, the statement of the problem, the method of gathering data, and the final result of
the study.
