Protect revenues and reduce insurance costs and premiums by following these proc
edures:
Conduct Occupational Safety, Health and Risk Management job hazard analysis to
recognize unsafe conditions and unsafe acts and behaviors, provide recommendatio
ns and suggestions to eliminate hazards, reduce mishaps and increase productivit
y and profits for employer.
Conduct incident investigations to find facts of why the mishap occurred and to
set forth methods to prevent reoccurrence. These methods are utilized with both
personnel and machinery including vehicles.
Occupational Safety, Health and Risk Management Training to provide specific kn
owledge to a group or an individual based on employers policy so that employees
can accomplish their job tasks safely and efficiently.
Workers Compensation assessments to create a plan to manage claims, return empl
oyees back to work, reduce costs, conduct claim reviews, reduce reserves and imp
rove or create procedures to prevent reoccurrence.

Professional Experience
IP Casino Resort and Spa Safety and Risk Manager (2006 2009)
Responsibilities included the Occupational Safety and Health program in which I
conducted inspections on a daily basis, provided recommendations to reduce unsaf
e conditions and behaviors. I was also accountable for the safety of the guests
and their property. I chaired the Safety Committee, worked daily with Security,
Surveillance and Facilities to ensure a safe and secure experience for the guest
s and the employees.
I also was the Workers Compensation Administrator for the self-insured program a
nd accomplished a 40% reduction in compensation costs by creating a return to wo
rk program, inspection and abatement schedules and aggressive incident investiga
tions. I also provided safety oversight for the fifty employees of Facilities a
nd Maintenance department.
The property maintained 1100 hotel rooms, nine restaurants, twelve beverage area
s, full day spa, pool, ten level parking garage, valet and transportation vehicl
es, over 100,000 square feet of gaming, three entertainment venues, a central pl
ant, facilities and 2500 employees.

Lone Star Industries, Inc Safety Manager (1999 2002)


Lone Star Industries was a heavy manufacturing and stevedoring facility located
in New Orleans. This property located on 54 acres of land along the Michoud Cana
l, off loaded Portland cement and slag and then blended the two items and transp
orted the materials via rail, road and navigable waters to various destinations.
The facility also off loaded and loaded agriculture commodities to be transport
ed again via rail, road or navigable waters. The antiquated plant and surroundin
g buildings needed daily inspections and services to maintain a safe and efficie
nt work environment. Departments had employees who also served as safety officer
s under my direction and received 30-hours OSHA training to train their peers an
d to conduct inspections. The facility had seventy employees and up to one hundr
ed construction contractors. In 2000 and 2001, we accomplished 400 days without
a lost time claim.
American Medical Response, Inc Director of Safety and Risk Management
(1996 1998)
American Medical Response, Inc or AMR is a nation wide patient care and transpor
tation company. I was the regional Director of Safety and Risk Management with t
he responsibility of several locations in many states. I conducted facility and
vehicle inspections to ensure a safe environment for employees, patients and gue
sts. I also supported the medical crews during their shifts to better understand
the stress and work conditions so that I could assist the company when updating
policies and procedures to ensure a World Class Safety program to protect the e
mployees and patients of AMR. AMR reduced its injury reserves by 1.8 million dol
lars in 14 months.
Naval Research Laboratory Safety Manager (1990 1996)
After graduating college, I began my career with the Department of Navy at the N
aval Research Laboratory at Stennis Space Center, Mississippi. My responsibiliti
es included various occupational safety and health elements, which were vital in
protecting the 586 civilians and 10 naval officers. The Naval Research Lab cond
ucted research and development experiments, tests, surveys at its main facility
and locations through out the world.
Elements included inspections of all working and walking surfaces, ship safety,
computer labs, chemical labs, material handling and storage, hazardous materials
and waste, construction safety, vehicles, forklifts, roads and grounds, offices
, technical labs and operational equipment.
Other elements were mishap investigations, hazards assessments, respiratory prot
ection, fire protection, contractors, electrical safety and OSHA recordkeeping.
