Methods of Research This research using experiment methods, with extracting

the Mirabilis jalapa L.

Step of the research are :

3. The resulting powder was extracted with
methanolic hydrochloric acid, to convert the
anthocyanins into their corresponding soluble
chlorides.
4. From this solution, anthocyanins were isolated by
using ether. Finally extract was filtered and used
as indicator.

to use the Mirabilis jalapa L as a natural indicator, cause

The results obtained in all the types of acid base titrations
Conclusion lead us to conclude that it was due to the presence of
flavonoids, sharp color changes occurred at the end point
of the titrations. We can also conclude that it is always
beneficial to use Mirabilis jalapa flower extract as an
indicator in all types of acid base titrations because of its
economy, simplicity and availability.

Careya arborea can be a natural indicators of acid base
titration or not.

Methods of Research This research using experiment methods, with

extracting the Careya arborea.

Step of the research are :

1. The fresh leaves were collected and authenticated
2. The leaves were cleaned with water and dried later.
3. Then they were cut into small pieces. 10 g of these
pieces were extracted for half an hrs with 50 ml of
Steps of Research methanol.
4. After pressing the marc, filtrate (henceforth called
as leaf extract) was collected and concentrated to its
1/4th volume and preserved in a tightly closed glass
container and stored away from direct sunlight
5. Write down the results of experiments
For all titrations the equivalences point obtained by the

Results of Experiment obtained by standard indicator. While in case of weak
acid and weak base titration, leaf extract failed to give a
sharp colour change.

Conclusion cannot be used as an indicator in titrations of weak acid
and weak base for 0.1 M strength. The results obtained
shows that the routinely used indicators can be replaced
by leaf extract. It is economical, simple and easily
available.
