Activity 3
1. What makes a good infographics?
A good infographic is supposed to be quick and easy way of conveying information to
your audience. It should visually appeal to the audience, convey essential data, and
build awareness. The information in your infographics should be correct and valid. Be
sure that all the information is truthful and honest. It is also legible, you should
prioritize fonts which are simple and easy to read, also avoid making your infographic
too busy. A good inforaphic has simple illustrations, make your illustrations simple
and ensure they can complement the data being conveyed. Complex illustrations will
distract your audience from your message. It should also have limited colours, limit
your colour palette if you try to create an infographic, which is visually appealing.
Interactive elements should also be consider, although adding interactive elements is
appealing, consider whether it is relevant what you’re trying to achieve.

2. What do you think are the limitations of using infographic to disseminate information?
It can be very time consuming to create an infographic. You don’t just type up some
words, post them and call it good. You need also to design a layout that will be easy to
read, include graphics that correspond with the data, and craft a story throughout the
infographic to make it a meaningful experience. Another is that the information on an
infographic can still be misinterpreted. Wherein, even though you offer facts on an
infographic, not all of the data may be absorbed by the reader. And since there’s only
limited space for-in depth information, some readers will never get the full story that
you’re trying to present through visual graphic. Lastly is that, many infographics are
difficult to read online. Some may work on desktops and some may not work on
phone screens. Wherein, you have to zoom in to read the content.

3. Since most digital photos are publicly shared online, what do you think are the ways to
protect your images from unauthorized copying?
You can protect your work by putting watermarks on it. Watermark is a strong way of
protecting your work from unauthorized use. Watermarks also identify you as the
copyright holder of the work. But some watermarks are easily cropped out and won’t
stop people who really want your images. Another solution is to use a semi-
transparent image to watermark over the whole of your image. Another way on how to
protect your image from unauthorized copying or online image theft is by adding a
copyright reminder. Using copyright reminder or copyright notice is important,
because it informs the public that your work is protected by copyright, identifies the
copyright owner, and it shows the year of first publication.
