further examination, the hole leads to a cave that has inscribed paintings on it. Think about the
scenario and list down the images or figures that pop in your head. What does those figures talk
about the way of living of those prehistoric people? Use the space provided below.

If I were an archeologist, and I discover a hole that leads to a cave, I will be thought that
there are some prehistoric people lived there a long time ago. Because there are some paintings
depicted like large wild animals, such as bison, horses, aurochs, and deer. Early humans may
have utilized art to aid themselves in their survival fight. Animal paintings on cave walls are
widespread. Perhaps this was supposed to bring success when hunting or to be a request for
assistance from a spirit realm that the people believed in. The purpose of cave paintings is cave
art is often thought to have a symbolic or religious function, or both. The paintings' specific
significance is unknown, although some scholars believe they were constructed within the
framework of shamanic beliefs and activities.

bone tools during the period.

the subject's beauty and perfection. The Greeks influenced Roman art, and the Romans

Directions: Do a research on the implications of the painting below.

Athena serves Heracles wine from an oinochoe jug. She

holds a spear and a small owl, and wears the snake-
trimmed aegis cloak. Her helm rests behind her on a low
plinth. Heracles wears a lion-skin cape, holds a drining cup
(kylix) and has a gnarled club resting at his side.
I decided to make a wild boar. I think animals were painted in caves is because perhaps the cave
man wanted to adorn the cave and picked animals since they were necessary for their survival.
The second possibility is that they saw this sorcery as a way to aid the hunters. Prehistoric man
might have documented their hunting journeys by painting animals on cave walls. It was
discovered to be at least 43,900 years old and represented a group of part-human, part-animal
characters hunting animals. These cave drawings also serve to fill in gaps in our understanding of
early human migrations.
