AOS2 AREP
Oversize Option

The AREP single oversize option selects the next alternator size
up from the standard alternator. This option offers a reduced
alternator temperature rise for extended alternator insulation
life. It may also provide improved motor starting SkVA and
better performance supplying non-linear loads.

The AREP excitation system improves the voltage response of Electrical Power
the alternator during transient load application, such as motor Output
starting. AREP also provides a sustained short-circuit current for
the operation of protective devices. This option requires that the Set Reference
standard self-excited alternator is replaced by an alternator that
has been fitted with auxiliary AREP coils. These coils provide Auxiliary Coils Sense Output
(Series and Shut) AVR
excitation power to the AVR, giving both shunt and compound
to give constant
(booster) characteristics.
