SELF-LEARNING MODULE (SLM)
QUARTER 3/WEEK 1

Good day, Salettinian learner! One with you. We are already in Quarter 3. So I hope that you
are still patient and eager to continue learning in this subject.
As this is a brand new start for Quarter 3, let us begin with a prayer.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Thank you God for all the things you've made our world to be.
For every single living plant, insect, bird and tree.

Thank you God for all the people you have placed around us.
For every single parent, friend and teacher that we trust.

Thank you Lord for all the gifts you send to us each day.
For every single meal and snack, for cuddles, toys and play.

Thank you God for caring for us, we know you always see,
Our every need, our worries, cares, our laughter, joys and tears.

Thank you Lord that you're our friend, you delight in all we do,
I pray that you sit with me as I study my lesson.
Amen
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Lesson Presentation
Jesus is the best teacher. Jesus was attentive to his family, friends,
town mates, and all people around him.
Jesus grew in wisdom. He thought, imagined, dreamt, studied and
understood.
Jesus was truthful and responsible. He chose what was good. Jesus
was loving. He was happy to be loved by the Father and he shared this
love with everyone.

Let us know how Solomon ask for wisdom. Taken from 1 Kings 3:5-14
One night, God appeared to Solomon in a dream. God said,
“Ask something of me and I will give it to you.”

Solomon answered: “O Lord, my God, you have made me

king to succeed my father David. But I am very young. I do
not know what to do.”

I serve you by taking care of the people you have chosen, a

people so many- that they cannot be numbered or counted.
Please give me, your servant, an understanding heart to judge
your people and to know wrong…

God was happy with what Solomon asked for. So God said to
him: “Because you have asked for this- not for a long life for
yourself, nor for riches, nor for the life of your enemies, but for
understanding so that you may know what is right- I do as you
asked.

I give you a heart so wise and understanding that there has never been anyone like you up to
now, and after you there will be no one as wise.

In addition, I give you what you have not asked for riches and glory more than any other king.
And if you follow me by keeping my commandments as your father David did, I will give you a
long life”
