SUCCESSFUL
STUDENTS
• Try not to do too much studying at one time.
• Plan specific times for studying.
• Try to study at the same times each day.
• Set specific goals for their study times.
• Start studying when planned.
• Work on the assignment they find most difficult first.
• Review their notes before beginning an assignment.
• Tell their friends not to call them during their study times.
• Call another student when they have difficulty with an
assignment.
• Review their work over the weekend.
Do you have difficulty paying attention?

• Try to anticipate the main ideas of the coming lecture

• If you have questions about material from the previous class > ASK
• Prepare a few questions
• Resist distractions
• Put yourself in the “mood”
• Shift position in your seat every so often
• When appropriate: ask a question, ask for more clarity,
• Train yourself not to indulge yourself into distractions > Face Book,
Mobile avctivities
 Form a tunnel between
you and the trainer

• Practise letting people move or cough without having to

look at them – just let them “be out there” as you focus
on what is being taught
• When talking with someone, keep your attention on
that person, look at his face, and note what is being
said. Let the rest of the world just be “out there.”
• Use the Be here now technique to help you regain
concentration when you do become distracted
momentarily.
