SHORT STORY
Discrimination comes in many forms. Like race, sexism, disability, gender,
religion and etc. Discrimination is one of the most horrible things you could do
to a person, and it can mentally haram someone. For example…
There was a girl name Aaliyah and she wanted to buy a shirt and some pants for
a party for her best friend. This party was happening tonight. She wanted to
look fancy, so she went to one of the best shops in the village and it had the best
clothes. When she entered the shop, she had a look around and she wanted to try
on some pants, so she asked the lady that worked there. Aaliyah said, “Excuse
me I want to try these pants on so can you unlock the changing rooms?”
The lady looked at her and screwed up her nose and said “Sure. But I don’t
think that would fit you. The clothes here are for more skinny people if you
know what I mean.” Aaliyah looked at her and felt hurt inside. This is one
example of discrimination. Another example is there was a lady her name was
Jenna she wanted to apply for a job as a construction worker. The boss was
looking to hire someone. Jenna went to apply, and she said to the boss “I would
like to apply for the job.” The boss laughed and said “You’re a girl. Not a boy.
Boys are supposed to be construction worker not girls.” Jenna looked at him and
said, “Girls can do just as much as boys can.”
“Just because I’m a girl doesn’t mean I can’t apply or do it.” she said. He
laughed and said “Sorry but boys can do better and even more. This is for boys
not girls. Maybe try to work as a fashion designer or model or waitress.” She
left disappointed. This is another example of discrimination. These two
examples are sexism and body shaming. There are many other ways of
discrimination. This should not be happening, and everyone should try to make
a change to this world. If people want to change maybe start by changing that.
This should not be a problem in this world. Let’s change that and make a
difference in the world.
