• Categories of States –
o For the ranking purpose, the index categorises states as ‘Front
runner’, ‘Achiever’, ‘Contender’, and ‘Aspirant’ based on their EE-
related efforts and achievements.
o For studying their energy consumption, states have been divided into
Groups based on their Total Final Energy Consumption (TFEC) in
Million Tonnes of Oil Equivalent (MTOE).

o ‘Aspirant’ – Remaining states and UTs
• Improvement –
o 27 states and UTs improved their scores from 2019 index.
o 7 states improved their scores by more than 10 points. (Assam, Andhra Pradesh,
Karnataka, Maharashtra, Punjab, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu)

transport system, while Kochi was judged the city with most sustainable
transport system.
• Delhi has received the award for the best non-motorised transport system
for the Chandni Chowk redevelopment project and best metro passenger
services and satisfaction award.
• Nagpur’s multi-modal integration with Metro rail was found to be the best in
the country.

Mobility India conference in New Delhi.
