All India Sports Council of the Deaf has got approval from the
ANS - A
International Committee of Sports for the Deaf (ICSD) to host the first
World Deaf T20 Cricket Championship in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala
from January 10 to 20, 2023.
• A minimum 8 countries are expected to take part in the
championship.
• AISCD is the only Indian national sports federation for the deaf,
while the ICSD is the only governing body for the deaf sports and
Deaflympics, sanctioned by the International Olympic Committee.

National Payments Corporation of India has introduced limits for ANS - A
cash withdrawals and mini statements for Aadhaar enabled
Payments Systems (AePS).
• These guidelines need to be implemented by January 15, 2022.
• According to the guidelines, banks will offer a maximum limit of
five approved cash withdrawal transactions per customer per
terminal per day. Post five transactions, issuer banks can either
decline the request or charge a fee.
• Further, a minimum of five mini statement transactions per
customer per month.

• Two-factor authentication has been made mandatory for ANS - A

business correspondents, agents and merchants for login


for at least one time in a day. The authentication will also
include Aadhar-Based Biometric Authentication.
• In case of a change in business correspondent, two-factor
authentication is mandatory.
• Cash withdrawal from micro ATMs of AePS has a limit of
Rs 10,000 per transaction.
• A total of 9.6 crore transactions worth Rs 25,860.92 crore
took place through AePS in December 2021.

What is AePS?

• Making financial transactions like cash deposit, withdrawal,
balance enquiry/mini-statement, KYC update, Aadhar to Aadhar
Fund Transfer by using Aadhar is AePS.
• For this, a micro ATM is used.
• Banks appoint a Business Correspondent (BC) to carry out these
transactions for the people in the remotest areas. The BC is given
a micro ATM.
• The micro ATM does Aadhar-Based Biometric Authentication
including finger scanning, and iris detection to carry out the
transaction.

• Five countries are China, France, Russia, the UK and the
US.
• Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT)
is a landmark international treaty to prevent the spread of
nuclear weapons and weapons technology, to promote
cooperation in the peaceful uses of nuclear energy and to
further the goal of achieving nuclear disarmament and
general and complete disarmament.
