You have been asked to write a proposal for the location of a company's new

coffee area. There are two options: an unused storeroom or an unused office.
Read the notes for the proposal. Decide which location you think would be best.
Write a proposal in 220 - 260 words in an appropriate style.

Storeroom Office
√ conveniently situated for all staff √ spacious–lots of natural light
√ already has running water √ room for seating–but need to buy
√ cheap to renovate tables and chairs
✖ small–hardly any room for seating
✖ not conveniently situated–it's near
✖ no windows
the manager's office
✖ no running water
✖ expensive to renovate

Staff and management comments:

a) most staff happy with either location - just
want a separate coffee area
b) if near manager's office, will he overhear
the conversations?
c) three or four staff think natural light is
important
d) several staff want an espresso machine and
water cooker
e) manager wants to keep costs down

VER 2:
Proposal For the Placement of a Company's Coffee Area

Introduction
The aim of this proposal is to offer pragmatic suggestions for selecting an optimal
coffee area that can satisfy the demands of employees as much as feasible.
Position
When questioned, the majority of personnel said either place is fine with them
and merely required a private coffee room. Hence, the vacant office ‌near the
manager's workplace is unlikely to be able to meet this need.

Facilities
I suppose ‌the storeroom is a preferred choice in terms of amenities. Despite
having limited space, the storeroom already has a supply water system, which is
essential for running a coffee. The cramped and dim stockroom, in addition, can
be transformed into a standing coffee bar with soft artificial light to hold close
conversations amongst staff members, thus significantly strengthening their
relationship. In the interim, as a practical alternative, the spacious office with
natural light favored by several employees should be used as a conference hall.

Expenditure
Since the manager attempts to keep a low budget, renovating the warehouse will
be more appropriate, as the facilities are almost provided free of charge.
Contrarily, it will be quite exorbitant if the company has to invest money in
furnishings and a water system for the unused office. I suggest w ‌ e should spend
that money on an espresso machine and a water heater as staffs' expectation.

Conclusion
To recapitulate, I firmly believe that the storeroom is an ideal preference after
evaluating all the criteria, and I hope m
‌ y approaches will be given due
consideration.
