A Proposal Report
Writing: You have been asked to write a proposal for the location of company’s new
coffee area. There are two options: an unused storeroom or unused office. Read the
notes for the proposal. Decide which location you think would be best. Write a
proposal in 220 – 260 words in an appropriate style.

PROPOSAL FOR THE LOCATION OF A COMPANY’S NEW COFFEE AREA

Introduction
The intention of this proposal is to suggest the appropriate place to contribute a
company’s new coffee between two possible areas: an unused storeroom or unused
office
Location
Following the comments of staff, they are happy with the separated location which is
not close with manager’s office. The staff want to have private conversations, so an
unused office near a manager's office, is an option that completely does not suit their
needs. Storeroom, in the other hand, is located on the same floor with workspace,
which is conveniently situated for all staff to arrive quickly.
Facilities
Both zones have drawbacks and benefits to open a suitable café with aspiration of
staff and manager. The unusual office is the larger of the two places and has a lot of
natural light that meeting the needs of a few employees. Although the storeroom is
small and does not have windows, it already has running water, which facilitates the
installation of an espresso machine and a water cooker. Additionally, the staff and
manager find it difficult to make coffee due to no running water in the office.
Expenditure
Renovating the storeroom is more economical than the office. Due to the wide space
and no running water in the office, it is expensive to buy tables and chairs and set up a
plumbing system. With the unused storeroom, we just equip some light and design a
standing coffee bar that makes this space both convenient and unique. Hence, the
décor of the storeroom costs reasonable money to satisfy the manager’s expectation.
Conclusion
Although the storeroom has no windows and is as large as the office , it is thought to
be the most suitable area for new coffee area. Furthermore, the staff can have a café
easily and comfortable meetings. I recommend that we select the unused storeroom as
the location for the company’s new coffee area.
