Error 129 APID 032 0

Meaning 0

Switch-on: Pot/resolver value not equal

Basic unit: Difference between the column or spotfilm device potentiometer value and the
column or spotfilm device resolver value after switching on power.

Reason, Cause: 0

The saved position of the column or the spotfilm device when switching on the NV-RAM on
the D320/XCU board does not match the one that is calculated from the potentiometer val-
ues after switching on the system.
Possible causes:
1. In 99.9% of all cases, the cause is unclear and can be found in almost every error log
- without a HW defect being responsible for it,
- without there being a misadjustment.

NOTE The potentiometers should be adjusted exclusively.

Action 0

1. Perform adjustment and linearization of the potentiometers; see "Spotfilm Device and
Column Longitudinal Drive" in the ICONOS Online Help:

SCU: timeout: position data from the BUC.

Reason, Cause: 0

The BUC has not signaled a position for too long a period:

Action 0

NOTE Under no circumstances is this a hardware error.

The BUC (SW) is monitored by the SCU with the new VE00B system SW.
If the SCU senses irregularities (see Reason, Cause), the safety circuit is switched off by
the Master drive. It will no longer be possible to move the unit.
The system will function again properly after a system switch-off/on.

SCU: wrong position data

Reason, Cause: 0

The BUC drive reaches positions that do not match the previously calculated values:
In addition, the last and the current positions are signaled line numbers with Error Numbers
580 and 581.

Action 0

The BUC (SW) is monitored by the SCU with the new VE00B system SW.
If the SCU senses irregularities (see Reason, Cause), the drive is switched off. After
acknowledging the error, the drive can be operated again.
The system will function again properly after acknowledging the error.

Troubleshooting 11

NOTE As a rule, the error occurs without there being a hardware

defect. “Characteristic” SW
The cause can be a defective drive potentiometer only if the
error from a drive occurs frequently.
Then monitoring of the SCU is quicker than that of the BUC.
The BUC error numbers would be:
APID 032 907
Motor blocks or potentiometer is defective. With potentiome-
ter-monitored movements, the potentiometer value does not
change when controller or changes too little.
APID 032 908
Drive moves without being controlled, moves in the wrong
direction or the potentiometer value is outside of the range.

Cassette Transport Problems 2.15

Cassette transport problems occur under the following conditions:

1. Old, worn transport belts
2. Too little or too much tension
- Closing speed is incorrectly set
- Mechanical jamming of the tension motor
- Transfer resistances in the motor power supply,
For example, in the X10 connector (power supply) on the D2 board; if needed, solder
the cables to the connectors.
3. Cassettes have an oil/grease film / for example, from hand lotion from the operator.
4. Cassette edges are not flat along the tension belts.
- Cassette is not rectangular
- Cassette is very smooth (machined surface) or has a notch.
- Set screws are projecting out on the bottom of the cassette. Make absolutely sure to
thread them in all the way.

NOTE Stated simply, the insertion force is too low.

Checking the Insertion Forces:

As shown in the illustration, the insertion forces can be best checked with a 30 x 24 cm /
12 x 10 inch cassette and a simple 100 N spring balance.
• For this, simply attach a wide insulation band or a similar object to the 30 x 24 cm / 12 x
10 inch cassette and hook on the spring balance as shown in the illustration.
• Prerequisite: The cassette must be completely sensed by the tension arms (belts). The
belts should not slip here!
¹ Slipping means: the cassette or the belt is too smooth or the tension forces is too
low.

Fig. 3: Closing speed

Troubleshooting 25

• The minimum insertion force "F" for the 30 x 24 cm /12 x 10 inch cassette should not
exceed 25 N in all unit positions.
¹ A change with "Adjustment/Calibration/Spotfilm device/Cassette tensioning:
Close speed" from 50% to 90% in the SSW results in a change of the insertion
force of approx. 20N.

I.I. Switch-off Strips 2.16

Unintentional / Sporadic Switch-off of the I.I. Switch-off Strips

Sporadically, it is possible that the switch-off strips are actuated.
To prevent this, perform the following checks:
1. Check the following adjustments in the SSW:
- Adjustment/ Room Dimensions
- Adjustment/ Calibration/ Tilt drive/ Tilt drive: Potentiometer adjustment
- Adjustment/ Calibration/ Spotfilm Device and column longitudinal drive/ Column lon-
gitudinal drive: Potentiometer adjustment
- Adjustment/ Calibration/ Spotfilm Device and column longitudinal drive/ Spotfilm
Device longitudinal drive: Potentiometer adjustment

Fig. 4: I.I. safety switch

2. Check and, if needed, adjust the dimensions of the switch-off elements per the table.

Dimen- 33 cm I.I. 40 cm I.I.

sion
X at least 40 mm at least 25 mm
Y at least 80 mm at least 20 mm
Z at least 20 mm at least 8 mm

- Use all long holes; if needed, shorten the plastic part of the switch-off elements.
¹ Measure from the lowest point of the I.I. (light distributor) to the end of the
switch-off element. In addition, make sure that if a switch-off element is manually
actuated, a minimum distance (Z) to the I.I. (light distributor) is maintained (the
minimum distance (Z) is the actuated switch to the I.I.).
