STICK WRAPPING!

• Step 1:

• Review your peers’ maps created for The Ecology and

Pedagogy of Place: Deepening Connections
Through Relationships assignment on Padlet (link to
Padlet is shared on
Blackboard). Reflect on the questions below and add to
your journey stick by wrapping coloured pieces of
ribbons, yarn, thread, fabrics and/or pieces of recycled
clothes or sheet to represent your experiences and
thoughts. Take a photo or short video of your journey
stick as you wrap it. Engage in pedagogical
documentation to represent your reflection, thoughts,
feelings, or questions in a relevant and meaningful
way. Use a method of documentation that is
different from what you did for Module/Bundle 1.
• Reflection Question:

• What relationships with the land and All Our Relations are you noticing in your
peers' maps? How are they similar or different from the relationships you built while
creating your own map?
REFLECTION QUESTIONS

• What relationships with the land and All Our Relations are you
noticing in your peers' maps? How are they similar or chose a spot where they went the most when they were
different from the relationships you built while creating your younger or go to now. I also found that everyone is trying to
own map? make more deep and meaningful connections in the area
where they go to sit and reflect. Maps are similar with the
greenery such as trees, leaf's, water, animals such as ducks,
animal prints and more! Some maps are different as of how
they were built some were drawn, 3d made, made digitally,
photo collage, and written. I believe that
everyone's relationships is different from when my map was
built because I connected with the land in different was oppose
to others. I connect with the land by releasing stress, giving
myself time to think, try and feed animals, connect with nature,
and have some quiet time. This can be different for everyone
because everyone connects differently to nature.
HOW I FELT DURING MY EXPERIENCE

• In my experience I felt peaceful, happy, calm

and cold. Today when I was outisde I was
reflecting on my courses and how I can
improve, furute plans and thought about
why is rains so hard then starts raining
lightly in a minute. Today I forogt to bring
my stick with me on my journey and when
I got home it started raining reallt hard and
when it rains I find it really calming and a
great time for me to reflect and get better
sleep.
TODAY I WENT UP NORTH TO
CONNECT WITH NATURE IN
MY OTHER BACKYARD.
Today I went back home which is a small town named Beeton in New
Tecumseth. I went there today to connect with family more and nature since
there is more greenery there than Vaughan. I chose to take photos in my
backyard because it used to be a place where I used to reflect before I
moved to Vaughan.
MY MAP
WHAT CHILDREN CAN DO IN MY MAP

• There are many activities for children to

engage in and I drew some activities that
can happen at the mark near my house
which is the map I drew. Children can
engage in constructive play, social play
and risk play at the playground by my
house.
