Principle of the calibration value: Calibration point

distance (L)
1. Due to factory or installing factors, the lens of PTZ camera may not be in a horizontal Calibration point
position when T=0. After calibrating, T’ is obtained.
2. In the calibration, the distance L between the calibration point and the PTZ camera is
calculated according to T and the height (H) of the PTZ camera. Influences of the calibration value:
According to trigonometric function, L=H÷tan(T+T’) The absence of or incorrect calibration value may result
3. According to the distance between the two calibration points, the radar and the PTZ in inaccurate tracking of the PTZ camera, and the target
camera, complete the calibration of the radar and PTZ camera. may be off to the top or bottom of the screen.

Step 8: Area management

1. Draw rules for the detection range.

2. Draw shielding zones to avoid false alarms which caused by interferences.
3. Priority: Alarm zone > Early warning zone > Shielding zone.
Note:
1. Select the check box to enable the rule so that the radar can perform an alarm.
2. Region filtering is disabled by default. Enable it to filter the target and then no tracking or tracks will be displayed.
3. When synchronizing DSS client with area configuration, you need to click Setting and click Confirm to close it.
Q&A

• Q1: Radar calibration failed

1. The calibration value of PTZ camera is inaccurate or has not been obtained. Generally, the value is between –2 to 0.
2. Improper radar calibration point. The triangle formed between the camera and two points is invalid. The PTZ camera and the other two
points shall not be placed in an straight line.
• Q2: The camera cannot track the target or rotate
1. Check if the track is displayed on the map. If not, problem may occur in the radar.
2. Check the PTZ camera management interface to see if the smart tracking is enabled.
3. Some programs in PTZ cameras do not support the Radar+PTZ smart tracking. Check the model and program version.

4. On the area management interface, check whether Region Filter is correctly configured (check "Person", all people will not be tracked
and there is no track displayed).
Q&A

• Q3: The PTZ moves disorderly

1. Bug occurs in the PTZ program. You need to upgrade the program to the version released after September 2019. Check the model and
program version.
• Q4: The camera cannot track targets accurately (tracking point calibration)
1. Check the heights of the PTZ camera and the radar to see if there is a big gap between the number and the actual heights.
2. The camera calibration value is inaccurate or has not been obtained.
3. After calibration, if you change the map or adjust the position of the radar, you need to reselect the calibration point.
• Q5: The camera cannot keep up with the moving target
1. The target is too close to the camera. Even when the target moves normally, it exceeds the maximum rotation speed of the camera. It is
recommended to keep a distance between the camera and the detection range of the radar.
2. When the target moves fast, the camera might fail to track it at first, but the target can be kept up during the continuous tracking later on.
It is a normal phenomenon.
3. The screen ratio of the PTZ camera is inappropriate. It is recommended to set the "Tracking target display” to a smaller size.
