HOOK

1. Who was the sender? What was his message/s?

The sender of the message is Ms. Condoleezza Rice. The content and purpose of
her message were to inform and give a report regarding the new leader of China. The
specific message that she wants to convey is that "Hu is the new leader of China," which
can sometimes be misinterpreted as "Who is the new leader of China?" if delivered in an
interrogative way. Another message, more likely a response that she wanted to convey,
was "Yes, Sir." but misinterpreted as "Yassir," and "Kofi," which was a person’s name
but misinterpreted as "Coffee."

2. Who was the receiver? Did the receiver interpret the message/s of the sender?

The receiver of the message conveyed is Mr. President. Due to some unprocessed
words involved in the message, he was unable to properly interpret the message that
came from the sender. Instead of "Hu," his interpretation turned into "who." Same with
"Yes, Sir." He interpreted it as "Yassir" and "Kofi" as "Coffee." The message was not
received properly by the receiver based on his response. It was not effectively
communicated, resulting in misunderstandings by both participants in the conversation.

3. What was the medium used? Was it effective in conveying the message/s?

The message was delivered in a verbal manner. It was said face-to-face. The use
of a face-to-face setting has the highest possibility of conveying messages effectively.
However, based on the video, in the situation, the medium was not very effectively used
to convey the message due to some errors and circumstances, mainly in the receiver’s
interpretation.
