THE CROWD
vs 29...a great multitude followed Jesus....
Jericho to Jerusalem
About 24 km (15 miles) distance, rough road, that would take about 8 hours walk
People must have followed Him in the crowd for different reasons..
- some people must have just gone along with the crowd part of the caravan going from
Jericho to Jerusalem, without knowing who He is
- some hoping to see His miracles, perhaps even to see if the miracles were real or just
setups
- some perhaps wanting to listen to what He had to say
- some perhaps convinced that Jesus was indeed who He said He was..
Let's look at this carefully. What was the significance of the title they were using:
"O Lord, Son of David"
2 Samuel 7:12-13
David was promised that one of his descendants would rule as king forever. The Jews
looked forward to this Son of David as the coming Messiah.

The Son of David was, therefore, a Messianic title.
Jesus was born in David's city, Bethlehem and was called the "Son of David" while he
was here on the earth.
"Son of David" was a recognition of Him being the Messiah, the Christ
By calling Him the Son of David, they were acknowledging Him to the Anointed One, the
Messiah, the Christ.
When Jesus began His ministry, He announced that He was the Anointed One.
He read from Isaiah 61.
Luke 4:18-19
Isaiah prophesied that the Anointing would remove burdens and destroy yokes (Isaiah
10:27) and this is exactly what Jesus demonstrated.
Today, He is the Holy and Anointed One, the Risen and Exalted
As Messiah, He not only healed and delivered people from demonic works by His
anointing and out of compassion .... but He did the greatest work on the Cross, where
He died for our sins.

The Cross was the greatest display of His power and love.
(Share what Jesus did for us on the Cross)
The blind men recognized Jesus for who He really was and cried out "Have mercy on us,
O Lord, Son of David!"
Will you recognize Him for who He is, and call on His name?
Romans 10:13 for whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved
What would you do when your calling out to the Lord faces opposition, delay, objection,
ridicule?
Do you give up, quit?
Or like the blind men, will you cry out all the more?

LIFE GROUP STUDY GUIDE
The is a simple guide for use in Life Group discussions. Our objective is to focus on the
application of the Sunday sermon - how each one is becoming a doer of the Word and building
their life on God's Holy Word. The Life Group meeting would normally last for 2 hours. Each Life
Group would have up to 12-15 people.
Preparation
To prepare for the Life Group meeting, you can listen to the Sermon Key Points (sermon
summary in five minutes) or the full length Sunday sermon. You can also review the Sunday
Sermon notes. All these are available in the "All Peoples Church Bangalore" mobile App or online
at apcwo.org/sermons . Pray for the Life Group meeting and invite the work and ministry of the
Holy Spirit.
Welcome
The Life Group meeting may commence with a time of prayer, worship and a fun activity.
Review the incident of the two blind men receiving their miracle from Jesus. Take time to share,
encourage each other in faith and pray for one another's needs. Expect to see miracles happen in
your life group meeting.
If time permits, each one takes a few (3 minutes max) to share one or two key learning and how
they see themselves applying it into their specific life situations. Encourage each one to
participate and share.

light of what was learnt today. Listen to the Holy Spirit. Expect the gifts of the Holy Spirit to flow
bringing healing, releasing miracles, prophecy, etc.
