REF : EMPLOYMENT LETTER


Following your successful interview for the position of Staff Driver, we are glad to offer you full
time employment , on permanent basis , the position of Clearing and forwarding admin to THE
KENYA PIPELINE COMPANY LIMITED. The terms and conditions of the employment are
outlined below.

1. Commencement Date
Your commencement date is 21st March 2022. You will be under probation for the first six
months until 21st September 2022 and upon satisfactory performance you will be confirmed
to the position. You will be employed on a permanent basis and you contract will expire as
per retirement date.
2. Reporting
Your employment is under and governed by the provisions of THE KENYA PIPELINE
COMPANY LIMITED you will , therefore , report to the HR. You shall adhere to and comply
with the provisions of the organization and ensure that the interests of the company are
protected.
3. Place of Work
Your duty station will be working remotely from HEAD OFFICE, Nairobi.
4. Duties And Responsibilities
Your duties and responsibilities are elaborated in the job description which will form part of
this contract. By signing this contract, you confirm that you have read and understood the
responsibilities entrusted upon you as a Clearing and forwarding driver seconded to THE
KENYA PIPELINE COMPANY LIMITED.

5. Remuneration
5.1. Salary : You will earn a gross salary of Kshs.45,880/= (Forty five
thousand eight hundred and eighty ) from which all applicable statutory deductions shall be
deducted and the net amount shall be payable to you.

Other Benefits : You will also be entitled to the following benefits:

5.2. Further , the company will provide a monthly reimbursement of Kshs 10,000 for travel
6. Hours of work
Normal working hours are from 8:00am to 4:00pm. Monday to Friday. However, in your
position, you may be required to work outside these stipulated hours in order to fulfill your
responsibilities.
7. Leave
7.1. Annual leave
You are entitled to twenty four (24) working days of leave after the completion of 12
months continuous services and pro-rata prior to this if you should join mid-way through
the year plus any public holidays in compliance with Kenya Labour Laws. Such leave
can be taken in piecemeal. However, Annual Leave is to be taken at times convenient to
both the employee and the employer.

7.2. Sick Leave


If you are unable to carry out your duties due to sickness you shall be entitled to a
maximum of seven (7) working days of sick leave at full pay and thereafter a maximum
of seven (7) working days at a half pay in a year.
7.3. Paternity / Maternal Leave
You will be entitled to a maximum of three (3) calendar months of maternity leave. You
are required to apply for leave seven days before your due date.
7.4. All leave shall be managed and governed according to the company Policy.
8. Performance Management
Your performance targets shall be set by the Company. Your performance will be reviewed
periodically.
9. Termination of Employment
9.1. Voluntary resignation during probation : This contract can be terminated, by either
party, by giving seven (7) working days’ notice or paying and equivalent of seven
working day’s Salary (net of taxes). After confirmation , either party can terminate this
contract by giving thirty (30) working days’ notice or pay equivalent to Salary in lieu of
notice.
9.2. Termination due to disciplinary matters : The termination will be in accordance to the
Employment Act of 2007.
9.3. Termination due to redundancy / retrenchment : This will be carried out as per the
Employment Act of 2007.
10. Copyrights and Ownership
All intellectual property rights including copyright in the work produced or contributed by
you terms of this agreement shall vest wit the company and shall be handed over or retained

by the company on completion or termination for this agreement, as applicable , without any
further payment of any consideration. Furthermore , you will not retain or remove from the
company’s premises any copy of record such work and /or technical documentation in
whatsoever form.
11. Amendments and Addendum to the Contract.
Amendments and addendum in respect of this contract shall be in writing and shall effect
as mutually agreed between the employer and the employee.

This employment letter supersedes any previous terms and conditions offered to you.
