Who am I?
A reflection paper

I believe that everyone is unique, and I guess that’s why personality can be defined as
one’s different characteristic that can distinguished one person from another. It is a certain
character that can make an individual stand out, however there are some characteristics that are
innate to a person and some developed as we make progress in our lives.

These innate characteristics might be influenced by our parents, when we we’re young or
anyone who is in authority can always leave an impression. Since when we were young we still
don’t think logically nor independently, we still need guidance from our parents, for example,
which molded us as an individual in the society we live in. However, as we grow older there
circumstances that can leave an impact to our life and that can change the way we see life as well
as change the way we thick, act or feel to such happenings.

Humans are innately sinful, but are not innately bad there are just these circumstances
that pushes a person to do such things or things that are not appropriate in the eyes of some or in
the law. Each one of us has its own role in the society, we have this called “missions” in life or
goals that are made from our dreams that we should reach at a certain point in our life.

In my life even though I am still young and still much to learn in the world I have already
experience things that are unbearable to some. Those were the dark days in my life where I see
myself already at the edge of a cliff like there is no escape. And all of a sudden you remembered
those times where you keep telling yourself that you’re a fighter that you can do it and that
you’re strong and then everything flashed right before your eyes can see that it’s already the end
and there is no turning back now.

I got scared, the fear of leaving the people you love just to ease the pain was all
selfishness. Everything sink in, you can’t bare the fact that it’s wrong to turn your back now that
someone still believes in you. So you rise up, and always remember that it doesn’t matter how
many times you’ve stumbled but it’s how you stand up and face what really matters. I have
learned that it’s normal to have failures and setbacks in life just keep going and embrace
acceptance as you go along.

Now, I see my everyday as a second chance and it’s true they’d say that it is indeed
sweeter the next time around. I learned to be patient, to be thankful and to prioritize. In today’s
society we will be judged, there will be criticism, rejections and humiliation but that’s what it is,
we can’t change someone’s perspective just for us, what we must do is still do good to them that
is how we change the world for them.

Now, I try to see every bit of positiveness in everyday because it’s not every day we see
the sun shine upon us.
