Jose Rizal is one of the National Heroes of the Philippines, he brought significant contributions during in time of Spanish Colonization. He is a son of a Filipino Father and a Chinese Mother, born in Calamba, Philippines on June 19, 1861. 2. Why is there a need to study Rizal's Life and Works? Substantiate.
The works and experiences of Rizal are essential to the society, he played a huge part on attaining the Philippine independence. It also teaches us to evaluate not only the society but ourselves, to live a life with a purpose and goals that will be benefitted by many. Another reason why there is a need to study Rizal’s life; to learn from the horrors that the colonizers have inflicted and to make sure that it will happen again. I can also say that what he experienced back then is still timely and relevant, in politics, Rizal have fought with his life ‘till the end, fighting for the Filipino against those who sits at the high table (referring to politicians being on the top). If we compare the people back then and now, I can easily conclude that most of the people in the present are being fanatic. That is why there is a need to study, assess, evaluate, and re-evaluate ourselves after learning Rizal’s life.
