Course Title: Engineering Economy
Course Credits: 3 unit Contact Hours/Week: 3 hour
Course Description: Time value of money; money discounting; effect of inflation; International Accounting Standards (IAS);
International Financial Reporting Standards(IFRS) under the IAS; use of feasibility analysis software
adopting the IAS standards; future value and present worth; investments, operating costs, financial and
economic benefits; annual projections of material quantities, costs and benefits. Net-Present value(NPV),
Internal Rate of return(IRR), Benefit-Cost ratio(BCR), Return on Investments(ROI) and Payback Period.
Financial and economic feasibility analyses.
Prerequisite: ES 224: Engineering Management with Feasibility Study Preparation
