Scenario

AUM goes smart!

Smart Campus is defined as “a physical or digital environment in which humans and
technology-enabled systems interact to create more immersive and automated experiences.
Smart Campus is a term used to describe educational institutions that use next-generation
technologies woven seamlessly within a well-architected infrastructure. This can enhance the
campus experience and provide education in a manner that all can access. It creates proactive
interactions to foster positive outcomes.

Through the “AUM goes smart” project, AUM invites students to come up with fresh,
creative, and innovative ideas that will contribute to the realization of the “AUM goes
smart” plan.

Objectives:

Provide ideas that will:

1. Improve student experiences.
2. Enhance campus safety.
3. Reduce operational costs.
4. Boost university reputation.
5. Reduce your carbon footprint.

You will need to decide on specific ideas (5 ideas) that are also practical and realistic. To do
that, you will need to go through a decision analysis process that will help you decide which
ideas will be the most effective.
Task 1: Brainstorm ideas that could help you achieve your objectives (you will need a
list of 10 ideas).

1. Mind Mapping
2. Simple to use
3. Modular
4. Intuitive
5. Flexible
6. Scalable
7. Intelligence
8. Critical thinking
9. Person centric
10. Adoptable
Task 2: Fill in the decision analysis matrix below for 8 of the ideas.

Task 3: Based on the data from the Decision Analysis Matrix, prepare a list of the 5
ideas that appear to be the most effective ones.

1. Adaptable
2. Intelligent
3. Adoptive
4. Modular
5. Design thinking
Task 4: Write a short proposal to present your “AUM goes smart” plan to the
University Committee. You need to include the 5 most effective ideas according to your
Decision Analysis Matrix.

Make sure to follow the form of a report using appropriate headings, sub-headings,
bullet-points etc. (about 400 words)

Technology has been the daily livelihood of people in our daily lives. It is very uncommon
for people in the current era to live without technology especially the students and professors.
Everything that we do in the current age it was based on the technological advancement that
has enabled the society to be an improved and efficient place. The banks, houses and business
all show the most advanced part for connection that people need and it is also the basis for
globalization. The following are some of the effective ideas:
 Modular- demand of the AUM campuses have adapted the technology that is effective
and support the students with the advancements and changes that are happening on
the daily basis. To address this issue, an intelligent AUM campus solution may
employ a micro-services-based domain-driven-design architecture.
 Design thinking- this capability enables the students to think more and explore their
abilities in the architectural world. Design thinking among the campus students in
AUM enables the students to have potential capabilities. As a result the design of
thinking might be adapted to meet the standards of the school as it enables them to
evolve and develop.
 Adoptable- In an ideal world, the solution would allow AUM institutions and colleges
to communicate with the peers and flourish tremendously. While the majority of
colleges and universities are regional in scope and scale, a smart building solution
may enable global scalability to meet the institution's objectives: Digital tools and
technology may be used to provide seamless data-driven experiences and greater
accessibility. The solution may be adapted to our needs as long as students are
presently in a classroom environment on campus or an online classroom (where we
can participate from anywhere in the world).
 Intelligence- Smart Campus platform need the acquisition of knowledge in order to
effectively adapt in the place. When we engage with the smart campus it is easier and
more adaptive to acquire the knowledge more and in effective manner.
 Adaptive- We will need to installation smart campus implementations so as for
creative colleges to exchange our institutions to in shape the expectancies of trendy
and tomorrow's campuses. It has the potential to improve three key areas:
understanding, skill, and training. As an end result, it has the capacity to modify the
manner college students have a look at and learn. It has the capacity to be a change
agent, supporting schools and universities to reinvent how students will examine and
work inside the destiny. To fulfill the needs of our virtual-local stakeholders, we can
also maintain to serve our traditional Campus while adjusting to new approaches of
servicing them. Educational institutions can modernize at the same time as still
serving our present ingredients and being financially viable with the guide of a smart
campus.
