The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) was mandated to mitigate
disasters that may arise from volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, tsunami and other related
geotectonic phenomena and the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services
Administration (PAGASA) was mandated to provide protection against natural calamities and
utilize scientific knowledge as an effective instrument to ensure the safety, wellbeing, and
economic security of all the people, for the promotion of national progress. In cooperation with
the mandates of PHIVOLCS and PAGASA, you as a disaster risk manager of the Zamboanga
City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (ZCDRRMO), you are tasked to a create
an infographic disaster risk reduction plan of earthquakes and typhoon.
Your work will be presented to the head of PHIVOLCS, PAGASA and National Disaster Risk
Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC). The infographic disaster risk reduction plan
will be evaluated in terms of its mitigation guidelines, utilization of scientific knowledge, design,
originality and relevancy to the target audience.
