    Amoy-palikuran, ugong ng
    lansangan,
    sa lupa ang langit ay hindi makita,
    tahanan ng diyos ay 'di kalayuan.
    Baclaran
    Sa sidhi ng hangad masidlan ang tiyan,
    dangal niyang taya, barya ang kinita,
    katabi'y sugalan nilang mayayaman.

    Kung buhay magbiro, papatak ang ulan,


    hahanap ng silong ang basang pamilya,
    tahanan ng diyos ay 'di kalayuan.

    ang tingin sa kapwa, hawig ng
    basura,

    Homelessness in the Philippines

    A significant fraction of the population in


    the Philippines remains homeless. With a
    total population of approximately 106
    million people, 4.5 million people are
    homelss and 3 million of those homeless
    people resides in the capital of Manila.
    These numbers clearly indicate that
    homelessness in the Philippines continues
    to a pressing issue for the country.
    On a global scale, poverty is one of the
    most significant root causes of
    homelessness. Stagnant wages,
    unemployment, and high housing and
    healthcare costs all play into poverty.
    Being unable to afford essentials like
    housing, food, education, and more greatly
    increases a person's or family's risk.
