Counseling Session 1
Rapport Building
In the first meeting, Samantha* and I discussed her career goals and I
assigned her the task of researching the colleges and universities that she
wanted to attend. I also asked her to watch a video on college fit to see if her
desired colleges fit her academic and social interests.

Counseling Session 2
Naviance SuperMatch
Samantha did the Naviance SuperMatch search to connect her academic,
social, location, and financial needs with a list of schools.

Counseling Session 3
O*NET Interest Profiler "My Next Move"
Samantha completed this career interest profiler to see if her personality
and career choices aligned. Her enterprising and artistic personality type
matched her desired career of becoming a corporate lawyer.

Counseling Session 4
Exploring Colleges and Majors
Based on the student's academic background, her interest in attending a
school on the West Coast, and her family's financial concerns, I
recommended that we look at schools that offer the Western Undergraduate
Exchange scholarship to CA residents.

Session 5
Parent Meeting
I emailed the student's mother with an update on our sessions. I wanted to
communicate to her the resources and plan we developed for Samantha to
apply to schools that offer the WUE scholarship so she can attend a 4-year
university and not put too much financial strain on her family. I emphasized
her daughter's strong-will to achieve and someday become a corporate
lawyer. Her mother received this information positively and was appreciative
of my counseling services.
