women’s health education on Baylor University’s campus. The Women’s Wellness Synergy
Seminar topics included menstrual health, reproductive health, medication and drug safety, safe
Seminar topics were conducted by health and wellness professionals all across the Baylor
University Campus, such as professionals from Baylor Health Services, Baylor Counseling
Center, Baylor CARE Team Services, and the Beauchamp Addiction Recovery Center. Guest
speakers were encouraged to prepare presentations over their respective topics, as well as
drafting thought provoking discussion questions. These questions ranged from “What do you

Guest speakers often presented educational content that was relevant to the college student
population. For example, the safe dating presenter discussed the issue of sexual assault on

campus, common relationship problems that college students experience, and signs of domestic
violence to look out for. Furthermore, the medication safety presenter delivered a powerful
message on addiction and how it can affect life in all aspects, as well as how to recognize
addiction in all forms in yourself and loved ones. Program participants were then able to discuss
personal topics affecting their daily lives and sought advice from a reputable individual.
Program participants attended these six aforementioned seminar sessions and were
encouraged to engage in discussions with the guest speaker and other participants. The
discussion portion of each seminar allowed participants to ask questions that they otherwise
would not in any other setting, such as a classroom. Every participant and guest speaker was
female, which allowed for participants to feel more comfortable detailing their health
experiences as women.
