Stage 2 – Assessment Evidence

Performance Tasks:
Create your own superhero using modeling
clay and send your superhero on a
spectacular adventure. Who is your hero and
what is their power? Who is the villain of
your story?Give us a story about the "big
fight" or problem between the hero and
villain. What is the villain doing and how does
the hero beat the villain?
(the stories will be written or typed out and
presented in front of the class later in the
week)
Other Evidence:
- Watch a short film of Mickey Mouse and have
the students explain what happened in the video:
What the setting is, who the characters are, and
explain the beginning, middle and end of the

-Play a fun game of kahoot about the key
elements of a plot.
-Students will be able to have group discussions
with each other throughout the week to critique
and give each other feedback before the
presentations are due.
-Use cloud organizer to write or draw out the
feelings that students feel when reading.
Students will fill out this worksheet on their own.
This will help students understand that a good
plot of a story is connected to the way that the
story makes them feel.

Stage 3 – Learning Plan
Learning Activities:
Students will:
- Create their own hero using modeling clay
- Create their own story about their heroes.
- Present their stories to the class.

story. This will also be used as a guide for
students to write their stories.
-Use a grading rubric to grade for students to
make sure students are on the right track to
learning this assignment. This will be used as a
final grading sheet for their final assignment. : To
create a superhero and tell their story.
Discuss:
- Discuss the process of writing the stories
-After the opening cue the class will have a group
discussion about the video to determine what
makes the story a bad or good story and how it
could have been better.
- Have a class discussion with all students about
identifying the key points of a story. Such as what
questions to ask and what to look for. This is
where we will play a game of kahoot with the
entire class.
- Students will be given the opportunity to read
their stories to the class and answer any
questions from the rest of the class.
