Motivation letter

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to express my interest in applying for a Language Course visa in order to stay in
Germany to learn German as well as to finish my Bachelor degree in Business and
Economics. I am eager to study Business in Germany as Germany is a major business hub in
Europe.

Germany is the ideal place to further my education for a number of reasons. Not only do I
yearn to be in a German university for the all-rounded learning experience, the local lifestyle
and culture also fascinate me. Especially the culture that combines predominantly
Christian values with literature, art and philosophy. I am drawn to the German culture and
lifestyle, especially German literature. Famous poets like Goethe show in their work their
unique ideologies that reflect the underlying German morals and principles, and I would like
to explore such themes in great detail. The Oktoberfest is a super attractive
culture as well.

After studying business and economics as an elective in high school, I was enthralled by
Microeconomics like elasticity of supply and demand, and I would very much like to
specialise in this field. I am very eager to go more in depth into the core concepts as well as
delve into more advanced topics.

Germany offers quality diverse education, with an emphasis on intellectual depth, social
skills, subject-specific expertise and a strong commitment to human values. I know that in
Germany, one can earn an internationally renowned degree as well as exposure to excellent
vocational career prospects. Germany is renowned for its efficient and professional work
ethic, and it creates the perfect environment for one to enrich their knowledge and achieve
academic success.

The best places for me to specialise in my eEconomics are Goethe University Frankfurt and
Dortmund Uuniversity of Ttechnology. I will dedicate myself wholeheartedly, and I wish
during my stay in Germany, I can contribute to the community in the best way.
Academics aside,

Although the shocking outbreak of the COVID-19 has affected me a lot, it did has not
stopped my passion to learn German, and I have already finished A1 studies during this
time. I am very much determined to learn German and to exchange the knowledge with
local students in a variety of ways. For instance: reading German books and watching videos
online everyday. And I found so much fun in german grammar like Reflexiv, Dativ etc.

In the upcoming year, I will attend the German course provided by EF for half of a year from
01/03/2021 to 03/09/2020, which consists of 274 weeks to enhance my German language
skills. During the time, I would stay in the accommodation provided by EF, to prepare for my
university applications. My family has been very supportive and they would provide me with
the necessary financial resources to fulfil my ambition. I am very much determined to learn
German and to exchange the knowledge, ideas and cultures with the local students in a
variety of ways.
In the future, I hope I am able to enter German workforce to contribute to the society after
my graduation. I would grasp this valuable opportunity and I promise that I would treasure
all of these valuable experiences.

Yours faithfully,
Riley Cheung
