Ubiquitous Computing
What does ‘ubiquitous’ mean?
Ubiquitous means present everywhere.
Write down a definition for ubiquitous computer systems.
Ubiquitous is the growing trend of embedding computational capability which
generally in the form of microprocessors into everyday objects to make them
effectively communicate and preform useful tasks in a way that minimizes the
end user`s need to interact with computers.

List some examples of ubiquitous computing.

 Apple Watch or Fitbit
 NEST
 Smart speakers (Amazon Echo, Google Assistant or Apple HomePod
 Self-driving cars
 Smart bulbs
 Smart locks

What does RFID stand for?

Radio Frequency Identification refers to a wireless system comprised of two
components tags and readers. The readers are a device that has one or more
antennas that emit radio waves and receives signals back from the RFID tag.

How does RFID work? Give an example.

RFID methods utilize radio to accomplish tasks. RFID systems consists of three
components an RFID tag or smart label, an RFID reader, and an antenna. The
RFID tags contain integrated circuit and an antenna, which are used to transmit
data to the RFID reader. The reader then converts the radio waves to a more
usable form of data. Information collected from the tags is then transferred
through a communications interface to a host computer system, where the
data can be stored in a database and analysed later.
RFID are used in hospitals for inventory tracking, controlling access and staff
and patients tracking.
