Good evening all,

Today we are going to present a skit on Discrimination at workplace

The first scenario talks about two employees asking for leave from their manager, one
employee has just joined the company and the other one is working from a long time in the
company, so here the manager is Ravi and the 2 employees are VILAS and YASH
So here we see how the manager is discriminating between the two employees and favors the
employee who is working from a long time.

The second scenario tells us about two employees getting an appraisal

Here the manager is DIVYESH and the two employees are SHELDON and SIDDESH.
Dialogue 1: Siddesh n sheldon are two employees having a conversation before the appraisal
meet
Sheldon n Siddesh conversation
A FEW MOMENTS LATER
Dialogue 2:- After hearing that Siddesh got promoted sheldon didn’t like it , he got
disappointed, Sheldon directly goes and confronts his manager Divyesh
Dialogue 3: As you can see Divesh as a manager was biased towards Sheldon on the basis of
language

The third scenario tells us about two employees, where one employee informs the company
before joining the company that she has a kid and would want to leave early everyday and
will need a holiday on weekends, which company agrees to during the hiring process while
getting paid the same salary as all. So when the employee is onboard another employee goes
to the HR and asks for the same benefits. Here the HR manager is AHAHA and the two
employees is TEJAL and SUJIT.
Here we see how the HR manager denies the request of the employee saying that he doesn’t
have a kid so the benefits cannot be provided to him

Monolog
Here we can see how some people treat 2 employees in a different way just because he
or she has worked in a company for a long time and has created a good rapo with the
manager, but the manager on the same hand does not have the open mindedness to
understand that the newly joined employee shares the same rights as the employee
working from a long time, maybe he even has something better to offer. But NO! he was
still treated as he isn’t important.
Even we see how the manager has been baised when it comes to appraisals of two
employees where one belongs to the same religion or caste as the manager so he is given
more preference than the other, being ignorant of the fact that maybe the other
employee will give better outputs than the one who is been given preference due to
religion
We also see that how one employee is given preference because of having a child when
other employee asks for the same benefits he is denied, which is wrong as the other
employee is working more efficiently than the one with a kid, still gets paid the same
salary. He in fact should at least get some benefits in return for his better job
performance.
Diversity on the bench is critical. As practitioners, you need HUMANS who 'get it!' We
need HUMANS who understand what discrimination feels like. We need HUMANS who
understand what inequality feels like. We need HUMANS who understand the keeness
of unfair treatment and who are willing to call it out when they see it!
