PRE-FINAL EXAM (Speech)

Chosen topic: “What adults do not understand”
Speaker/Student: Rizeth Ahne Marie C. Garay

Adults do not understand that “they are not always right” we are individuals that given a
chance to live the life and yes, we can’t deny that we are dependent to them most of the time .But the
thing is they assume they know everything and we know nothing. I appreciate the reason that they
don’t want us to suffer the same mistake they did before and that is my point! They cared too much to
the point that they wanted to control our life and live the way they perceived. I hope they do
remember that they should be the one who understand us because I believed they know more. But
sadly, their ego is eating them up. Their favorite line is “Papunta ka palang pabalik na ako”
I hope they understand that’s when we are giving our opinion it doesn’t mean that we are
disrespecting them or talking against them. I hope that they do understand that they can also learn
from us as we do from them. In fact, adults including me because basically I’m 20 are all simply a kid
living in a grown old body acting brave but actually some of us has no idea what life is. We are here
to guide children and not invalidating their free will. It is not their fault that we are born earlier in this
world. Let us be their guide not a hindrance of their growth. That’s all thank you so much for listening.
