1. Amazon.com’s mission statement is clearly market-oriented.

It can be paraphrased that

Amazon.com wants to fulfill consumers’ needs and desires in the present and in the future

by identifying the needs before creating products or services. (Kopp, 2021)

2. The new Walmart mission statement echoes the beliefs of the company's founder, Sam

Walton. This mission statement, which is consistent with the company's motto, "Save

money. ", is a direct outcome of strategic business decisions. "Leave a better legacy."

Walmart's business methods, according to this statement, include leveraging pricing as a

selling feature to attract target consumers. Many of the company's initiatives reflect the

relevance of such a selling element. For example, in Walmart Inc.'s marketing mix, or 4P,

low pricing constitutes a strategy. The requirement to keep selling prices as low as possible

in order to remain competitive effects other elements of the firm (Ferguson, 2019).

Walmart's low selling prices satisfy the "save people money" component of their goal

statement. When compared to purchasing the same or similar items in midscale and high-

end retailers, consumers save money by shopping at the company's stores (Ferguson,2019).

Elements of Walmart's Marketing Mix

a. The location (Distribution). The intense distribution approach, also known as the intensive

distribution channel design, is used by Walmart. In this method, all Walmart stores offer the

same range of items, and all employees have the same jobs and responsibilities.

Furthermore, in order to reach more people, the corporation continues to build new outlets.

b. Pricing Strategies Walmart's price approach is referred to as "Everyday Low Price"

(EDLP). Advertisements for "Everyday Low Prices" are frequent in Walmart shops. This

price strategy's purpose is to draw in a huge number of clients.

c. Product. Walmart's product is the retail service it provides. In general, retail enterprises are

service businesses. Customers are attracted to the business because it offers a convenient
and effective service. Walmart's sales staff, for example, are educated to efficiently help

consumers in discovering the items they desire.

Promotional possibilities (Promotional Mix or Marketing CommunicationsMix). Walmart's

promotional mix includes advertisements, sales promotions, personal selling, and public

relations. Newspapers and the internet are used to promote the business. Walmart uses

special offers and discounts as part of its sales marketing.

The marketing mix used by Walmart has been shown to be beneficial in boosting the

company's growth. However, there are still a number of locations where Walmart shops are

either absent or difficult to locate. This is particularly true in developing-country

markets. As a consequence, depending on the features of its marketing mix, Walmart should

increase its location/distribution component. The corporation can enter new markets and

develop in existing ones through foreign direct investments and joint partnerships. As a

consequence, Walmart's marketing mix, which includes place/distribution, can help the

corporation maintain its competitive edge and long-term success in the worldwide market.

3. I loved these first few lessons, the topics are very fascinating and stimulating. Internet and

Artificial Intelligence change the world rapidly, moreover, in the pandemic, is this affecting

the business models and strategies? And if so, how do we manage to develop the new

strategies to conquer the “new” digital world and even in the corona that people say will

kill the economy?
