JuBELLation Ringers is offering a Handbell Basics class for anyone over the age of 12 who has
ever wanted to get their hands on a bell! This is a no obligation opportunity to play on and with the
Handbells and Handchimes, taught by JuBELLation members and director. You will get to ring
right away at the first session, plus we‟ll cover a review of music reading, basics of ringing, and
some special fun techniques that only bells can do. And it‟s FREE!
The classes offered are Tuesday, July 5 and July 12 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m in the FCC Sanctu-

materials, and gifts of cookies and treats - all of which sustained us during a difficult, but very re-
warding week with our friends in Los Fresnos, Texas. We traveled 15 hours to Southwest Good
Samaritan Ministries, a member institution of the Disciples of Christ denomination. It was a reun-
ion with Mexican and American friends made over a period of ten years. The wind beneath our
wings has consistently been the power of the Holy Spirit, working in our lives; and graced by the
love of God and the fellowship of other Christians. We will tell our story in worship on June 12.
Come and join us as we share in thanksgiving for God's Goodness.

 The Care and Feeding of A Candle

In the movie “Mr. Magorium‟s Wonder Emporium” on his last day of life, Mr.
Magorium is treated to “the best last day ever” by his friend and soon to be heir, Molly
Mahoney. One of the things they do on that day is go into a clock store and set all of the
clocks to strike 12 at the same time. When they have finished setting the clocks they
say:
Mr. Magorium: 37 seconds.
Mahoney: Great. Well done. Now we wait.
Mr. Magorium: No. We breathe. We pulse. We regenerate. Our hearts
beat. Our minds create. Our souls ingest. 37 seconds, well used, is a life-
time.
As you are reading this, my family and I are on vacation and probably somewhere in
Paris (France not Texas). We have been looking forward to this opportunity for a long
time, and we have been preparing the boys for the things they might see and experience.
One of the places we will see is Salzburg, Austria so we have been talking about Mozart
and listening to music he composed so that when we go to the museum there, they will
have context for the experience. We also watched “The Sound of Music” as it was
filmed there. We have talked with them about the Louvre, the Eiffel tower, and the
Swiss Alps.
Just as important as our experiences is the opportunity for us to get away (the root of
the word „vacation‟ is „vacate‟) as a family. With little pull on our time and attention
away from each other, we will have the opportunity to enjoy each other. We will have
the opportunity to breathe, pulse, regenerate, and create together.
As many of you have the opportunity to take vacation this summer, I hope that you
will use it as time to „vacate‟ your common places and activities (even if it ends up
being a „stay-cation‟). Maybe you can spend some time breathing, pulsing, regenerating,
and creating.
I look forward to rejoining you at the end of June refreshed and ready to continue
engaging in ministry together for the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Summertime Children’s Worship
REMINDER TO CHILDREN AND PARENTS: This week, children will begin wor-
ship in the sanctuary and then dismiss to the Youth Room for Children‟s Worship. We
will bring the crew back into worship in time for communion and benediction.

GUYS CAMPOUT/GALS WEEKEND - June 10-June 11
We are all meeting at the FCC parking lot Friday at 4:00. Both groups will be back in
Stillwater around 12:00pm on Saturday.
Guys are heading to Tonkawa to camp out on the river and fish like crazy. Bring a flash-
light, closed toed water shoes, swim suit or shorts and extra clothes, fishing pole and
fishing license if you have one. Rick has already been busy tying trout line hooks – be
ready to catch a batch of fish (we‟re expecting a fish fry to follow).
Girls, we‟re heading to OKC for a little “girl time.” Pack your swim suit, walking shoes,
dressy clothes and comfy clothes. We won‟t come home smelling like fish, but we will
have some great stories to share.
ALL CHURCH VOLUNTEERS Mission Camp Planning Meeting - June 26th
Mark your calendars for an all church volunteer meeting
for Mission Camp. The meeting will be held immediately
following the Contemporary Service on June 26th. Pizza
will be served. Topics include: hospitality, food, activities,
service projects, and worship. We are hopeful everyone will
