Using Filters in Analytics - Advanced

You can use lters with your analytics charts.

Using Filters with Charts

By using the lter bar at the top of the app, you can lter data for a chart based on version/scenarios, period type, time periods,
and attribute values. For example, you want to see only a certain key gure for a product or location, so you lter by that
attribute. To lter the list, select one or more of the lter options from the lter bar.

 Note
We recommend that you use a lter, otherwise the processing of data may take longer, especially for large amounts of data.

You can apply prede ned planning lters to your analytics charts without having to enter the lters manually. You can choose a
planning lter from a list of existing planning lters you have created or ones that have been shared with you.

All analytics charts are refreshed based on the resulting lter, including the planning lter.

 Note
If you change a planning lter, you’ll need to refresh the charts and dashboards using that planning lter to see your
changes.

Based on the attribute permissions con gured by your system administrator, your Ad Hoc Filter and Group By elds will only
display the attributes that you can see. If you don’t see certain attributes that you expect to be available, please check with your
system administrator to see whether your user role contains the necessary permissions for you to see the restricted attributes.

For more information on how attribute permissions may restrict what attributes you see in your lters, see Manage Attribute
Permissions.

Time Period Filters

The Time Periods lter allows you to lter your data at any time period granularity, regardless of the group by granularity of the
chart.

Example
For example, if the Time Periods lter is set for the month of November 2021 and the chart is initially grouped by week, then the
chart displays the complete data for the ve weeks that cover November of 2021. The applied lters information displays
November 2021.

For example, if the Time Periods lter on set to weeks and the group by from the chart is months, and you only select a lter for
a single week, it will still show the data for the whole month that selected week is in.

Viewing Applied Filters and Their Priorities

When viewing or editing an analytics chart, you can select the Filters tab to see more information about which lters are applied
and what their respective priorities are. The following table demonstrates how lters are merged or overwritten, resulting in
the display of applied lters.
