CHECK LIST FOR SIDING PLANS

The proposed ESP of sidings should be in conformity with latest provisions of Schedule of
Dimensions and IRPWM. The salient points in this regard are as below to be checked and
compliance/Reasons for non- compliance shall be given while submitting the proposals

8. On the plan should be shown in detail all features of the country Complied

Railway. The boundaries of different kinds of land use like
cultivation, forest, pasture, waste etc., should be marked on the
plan. In the alignment plan the centre line of the proposed line
should be indicated by full red line 0.8 mm thickness (para 453 of
Engg. Code)

9. In addition to the foregoing, the following details should be


shown, in so far as they lie within a distance of 300 metres on
either side of the centre line (para 454 of Engg. Code)

1) Rivers requiring a waterway of 12 meters or upwards. Complied

10 On the section, the formation level should be shown by a red Complied
line, the ground line being
Black. If practicable, throughout each sheet the ground line and
formation should be
continuous i.e. without steps, or changes of datum, for long
length of steep ruling gradient it is advisable to incline and "step" Complied
the datum line (Para 458 of Engg. Code).
11 Longitudinal section and cross sections of the proposal siding Complied
should be shown to the scale on the proposal. In L- section,
details such as nomenclature of lines, cutting, filling, existing
and proposed formation levels and rail levels should be
indicated.
12 In case of proposals involving regarding of yard lines, separate Complied
plan with 'L' section of existing and proposed track shall be
prepared and will not be a part of ESP. However, reference to
the `L' section drawing shall be recorded in the ESP.

13 A Note should be provided on the drawing as given below: Complied


Track on embankments and in cuttings shall be provided as
per RDSO profile ensuring proper berms etc. Side slopes
in the cuttings shall be stable according to the type of
soil available at site. Catch water drains shall be
provided to divert water away from the cutting.
