4. Teaching (What will you do?) (5 points)

I would first start of the lesson by reading the book “Birds from Head to Tail” to the students. Once I am
done reading the story to the students, I would then ask my students questions like How many birds
were mentioned in the book? What are the names of the birds that were in the story? What are some
features they learned in the book. I would also discuss with my students what are features and the names
of the birds there were in the book. After I am done asking them questions, I would then ask my students
to go back to their seats, once they are all back to their seats, I would then ask my students to grab a
piece of paper that is found on the table, I would then ask each student to draw their favorite bird they
liked from the book, once they draw their bird I would then ask each student to color their bird. Once
they are done coloring, I would then ask each student to write at the bottom of the page the name of the
bird they chose and in the back of the paper I want them to write three sentences of what they learned
about the bird they chose.
5. Closure: (2 points)
Once they are done writing what they learned about the bird. I would then ask my students to go to the
front of the classroom and make a circle. I would then ask each student to share their drawing and what
they learned about their bird. After they are done, I would then ask my students to stand up and go to the
board that is found in the back of the classroom, I would then ask my students to hang their drawings on
the board that is found in the back of the classroom. Once they are done, I would then ask my students to
go back to their seats. Once they are all back to their seats I would then ask the students what they
enjoyed about the lesson.
