 Apply strategies for overcoming medication nonadherence to patient case

Google Jamboard Activity
 Directions:

 Break up into groups of 4 to 5

 Review the terms and thoughts submitted for the Google Jamboard activity.

 Create at least 3 category “titles” based on the themes (e.g. race, age) you can
find within the answer submissions.

 Assign each sticky note to a category you created.

 Be ready to explain how you identified the categories and why each sticky note
falls within the category “title” you created.

Empathy and Resources Activity
 Directions

 Stay in the same groups of 4 to 5

 For the category you are assigned, create a Google Slide with answers to the
following questions:

 What barriers to health care might this population face?

 What strategies would you use to empathize with this population?

 What specific resources may be helpful to the patient or for yourself?

 Share google slide with eletsing@gmail.com

 Provide a 2–3-minute presentation on your slide

Patient Nonadherence Activity
 Directions

 Break up into groups of 2

 Review your assigned statement and design a skit with one partner acting as the patient
and the other as the pharmacist. When designing the skit, assess the following questions:

 What are some reasons the patient may say this?

 What techniques or strategies would you employ to address this adherence problem?

 What types of phrases would you respond with?

 What resources could you use to help assist the patient?

 Present 3–5-minute skit to the class
