Course delivery.
This course utilises blended learning. Students will attend the college three days per
week as well as completing home study modules.

Clinical Experience
Students will complete 200 hours in year 1 and 400 hours in each of years 2 & 3.

Orthopaedic & Manipulative Therapy:

Orthopaedic Therapy is dedicated to the prevention and treatment of injuries of both soft
tissue and orthopaedic nature. This course offers the learner the skills necessary to
effectively and confidently diagnose and treat a wide variety of injuries. Learners will be
given the necessary skills to confidently and effectively examine and perform
appropriate orthopaedic tests, to be able to arrive at an accurate differential diagnosis of
injury.

Manipulative therapy is the treatment of joints using manual mobilisation and thrust
techniques. It utilises the techniques of Osteopathy and Chiropractic.

In addition, the learner will receive training in the rehabilitation of the injured person,
electrotherapy, orthopaedic testing and treatment protocols.

Registration:

On successfully completing this course, graduates may apply for registration with the
Register of Orthopaedic & Soft Tissue Therapists of Ireland (ROSTI). This will give the
graduate the status of being an approved therapist by the major Health Insurance
Companies in Ireland, allowing their clients to claim treatment fees as allowed under
their client’s policies.

Course Fees

Bachelor of Science Degree BSc in Orthopaedic & Manipulative Therapy.

Year 1: €4,500. Payable in 2 instalments of €2,250, prior to the start of each semester
Year 2: €4,500. Payable in 2 instalments of €2,250, prior to the start of each semester
Year 3-4: €6,000. Payable in 2 instalments of €3,000, prior to the start of each semester

Educational Advancement

On successfully completing this course students may choose to advance to a

Master’s degree and further to a PhD.

Graduates may also choose to transfer to study Manual Osteopathy.

Course Dates

Start date: 27th September 2022

Students attend the college on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday each week.
Home study modules to be completed on non-college days. Full calendar will be sent to
students on acceptance of their application.
