I enclose a list of College Open Days for 2022/23. This is not an exhaustive list but it should
provide a good starting point for your child's research. I’ve included links to prospectuses
and online facilities where available. Some colleges have a Chat With Students option
where you can ask questions about a particular course from a student who is currently
enrolled in that course. This is a great facility to help students see exactly what a course
entails from a students perspective. Many colleges also have recordings of past (virtual)
open days.
I’ve added a link to the Generation Apprenticeship website which has over 80
apprenticeships available. The apprenticeship route combines work with training and has
expanded to include areas such as Biopharmaceutical, Logistics, Accountancy, and much
more.
I encourage all senior students to attend the open days, many of which are on Saturdays. It’s
a great opportunity to meet students and staff and gain more insight into the courses that
they offer.
Kind regards

More and more careers have apprenticeship routes being added each year. The
apprenticeship route is an attractive career path as it combines work and study. You may be
familiar with some of the more traditional apprenticeships such as electrician, carpentry,
plumbing etc. New apprenticeships are running in areas such as Biopharmaceutical,
Logistics, Accounting, Insurance, Real Estate, ICT, Hospitality and much more. There
are 83 apprenticeships now on offer.
Here’s the Generation Apprenticeship website where you can get more in depth
information on each career.
