PREFACE
This document serves as a guide for the students enrolled through the Distance Learning
Programs for the Online Assessment System who may be responsible for booking an exam
or answering an assignment.

This guide covers the student booking flow using the Online Assessment System.

Intended Audience
This guide is intended for the students enrolled through the Distance Learning Programs for
the Online Assessment System who may be responsible for booking an exam or answering
an assignment.

Typographic Conventions and Abbreviations
The following typographic conventions and abbreviations are used in this guide:

INTRODUCTION

Online Assessment System (OAS) is a web application meant for the students enrolled
through the Distance Learning Programs, to book an exam as well answer the assignments.
This chapter includes the following topics:

System Requirements
The system requirements are as follows:
Operating System - Windows
Browsers – Mozilla Firefox 4 (and above), IE 7, IE 8

Logging On
Workflow
Login to the student portal. Student will see a link “Assessments” in the left
navigation pane of Student Portal.
On clicking this link, Student will be automatically signed in to the Assessment
System.
Student Landing Page of the Assessment System will be opened in a new browser
window/tab.

Logging Off
On the upper-right corner of any page, click Log out. Student should be logged out
of OAS Student Login.

STUDENT BOOKING
All non-corporate students can book an exam or answer an assignment for the enrolled
program. Corporate Students will be able to see subjects only from released semesters
specific to the company and location. All the exam bookings related to corporate student will
be done by a call center admin.

Prerequisite

Student should be enrolled for at least one program.

List subjects of registered program

The subjects of all the semesters of the registered program will be listed on the ‘List
Subjects’ page by default.
The subjects can be filtered by choosing appropriate program and semester from the drop
down and clicking on View Subjects button.
The Following screen will be displayed:

Clicking on View Assessments link will navigate to Subject Assessments i.e. Bookings:
Select Assessments page.

Subject Assessment
This page will display the list of assignments and exams for the selected subject. These will
be enabled disabled as per the administrative settings at the backend (number of available
attempts, passed/failed status, etc.).

The Following screen will be displayed:

The status and the corresponding action is described below for both Exam and Assignment

Book Now
If the assessment of type “exam” is a paid attempt and student has enough balance in the
account or the “exam” is a free attempt, then Book Now link will be displayed for the
corresponding Exam.
Click on the Book Now link to book the exam.
If the student does not have enough balance in the account and the assessment of type
“exam” is a paid attempt, then a message “No sufficient balance in the account to avail the
attempt” will be displayed for the corresponding assessment.

Booking Details
If the Assessment is of Type “Exam”, clicking on Booking Details link will display the
following:
Current Booking if the Assessment is booked

Current Booking History if the Assessment booking is changed and

Published Result to view the result of all the attempts of the assessment once it’s
published.

The following screen will be displayed:

If the Assessment is of Type “Assignment”, clicking on Booking Details link will only
display the Published Result to view the result of all the attempts of the assessment once
it’s published.

Download Hall Ticket


Once the exam is booked, Download Hall Ticket link will be displayed for the corresponding
assessment. Click on the Download Hall ticket link to download the hall ticket in PDF
format.

Answer Now
If the assessment of type “Assignment” is a paid attempt and student has enough balance
in the account or the “Assignment” is a free attempt, then Answer Now link will be
displayed for the corresponding Assignment.

Click on the Answer Now link to answer the assignment. If the Assessment is a paid
attempt, then exact money will be deducted from students account on clicking the Answer
Now link and payment success message will be displayed.
On clicking the Answer Now link three links will be activated:
1. View Activation Key: Click on this link to view the student question paper activation
key.
2. Start: Click on this link to answer the assignment. Enter the student registration id and
student activation key as given in the View activation link for login.
3. Instructions: Click on this to get instruction for start answering assignment.
If the student does not have enough balance in the account and the assessment of type
“Assignment” is a paid attempt, then a message “No sufficient balance in the account to
avail the attempt” will be displayed for the corresponding assessment.
NOTE: Student cannot book an assignment.

Exam Instructions
On clicking the Book Now link to book the exam, Exam Instructions page will be displayed.
Student should read the instructions carefully, click on I agree check box and click on Next
button to proceed with exam booking.

Test Center Type Selection


On clicking the Next button on Exam instructions page, Type of Assessment page will be
displayed.
Local students can book the exam only at Test center

International students can book only proctored exams i.e. Online Proctored and Offline
(Paper Based) Proctored

Test Center Selection


On selecting the Test Center type as “Test Center” and clicking on Next button navigates
to Bookings: Select Test Center page.
The following screen will be displayed:

Select the appropriate country, state, city and test center from the drop down and the
booking date and click on Get Time Slot button.

Proctor Selection

On selecting the Test Center type as “Online Proctored” or “Offline (Paper Based)
Proctored” and clicking on Next button navigates to Bookings: Select Test Center page.
The following screen will be displayed:

Student will enter the proctor details and the booking date and click on Get Time Slot
button.

On clicking the Get Time Slot button on Bookings: Select Test center navigates to Bookings:
Select Time Slot page.

Local student will select the timeslot as per the choice and click on Do Booking button to
continue the exam test center booking.
NOTE: Time slots will be disabled if they do not meet the Assessment duration criteria or if
all the seats for that test center are booked or reserved.

Proctor Time Slot selection


On clicking the Get Time Slot button on Bookings: Exam date and Proctor Selection page
navigates to Bookings: Select Time Slot page.
The following screen will be displayed.

NRI student will select the time zone from the drop down as appropriate and click on
Convert to TimeZone button. The Time slots will be displayed as per the time zone
selected.
Student will then select the timeslot as per the choice and click on Do Booking button to
continue the exam proctored booking.

NOTE: Time slots will be disabled if they do not meet the Assessment duration criteria or if
all the seats for that test center are booked or reserved.

Booking Summary

On clicking the Do Booking Button on Bookings: Select Time Slot page, navigates to
Bookings: Summary page.
The following screen will be displayed.

Student will have to verify the bookings details, click on I agree checkbox and click on
Confirm Booking button to confirm the exam booking.

On clicking the Confirm booking button, a confirmation pop-up will be displayed.


Student should click on “Yes” to confirm the booking or “No” else wise.

If the exam is a paid attempt and student clicks on “yes” to confirm the booking, exact
money of the paid attempt will be deducted from students account and the payment success
and booking success message will be displayed.

If the exam is a free attempt and student clicks on “yes” to confirm the booking, only
booking success message will be displayed.

Email/SMS alerts will be sent to the student of the confirmed booking.

NOTE: Back button on each page navigates to the previous page and Back to Search
button navigates to student landing page.
