Profibus - Manual
AERtronic AS 300 V1.07 and later
The Profibus EM5 Module works with 64 word input and 8 word output data.

Data from client to AERtronic:

1. Byte Acknowledge status

Place this byte to hex value „ 5A“ and the most recent status will be acknowledged. It
is recommended to only enter this value in the register for 1-2 seconds and then to
overwrite it with hex value „ 00“.

2. Byte: Remote on / off

Bit 0: compressor on
Bit 1 – Bit 6: 0
Bit 7: release or enable compressor on / off
The remote on / off control will only be active if the controller parameters have been
set to active and the release Bit 7 has been set. When properly activated the local on /
off screen buttons show a lock symbol and the machine may be started with Bit 0 = 1
and stopped with Bit 0 = 0. The parameter “remote on/off” must set to
“Modbus/Profibus”. (main menu  control  misc.  remote on/off)

3. Byte Remote pressure control

Bit 0: remote pressure control on
Bit 1 – Bit 6: 0
Bit 7: release or enable remote pressure control
The remote pressure control will only be active if the controller parameters have been
set to active and the release Bit 7 has been set.
In this case the pressure control may be activated with Bit 0. Bit 0 = 1 will put the
compressor into load mode or it starts from standby mode in case the shut-down-
operation (main menu  control system misc.  operation mode) has been set. Set
Bit 0 = 0 then the machine will go into unload and idle mode and will place it into
standby mode (main motor off) upon elapsing the “minimum run-on time” (main menu
 machine parameter). The shut-down-operation must be set to active also.

4. Byte Remote pressure set value

Bit 0 – Bit 5: 0
Bit 6: release or enable remote RPM set value
Bit 7: release or enable remote pressure set value
The pressure set value is only active if Bit 7 is set. Within this value the set value may
be provided in Byte 5 and 6.
The RPM set value is only active if Bit 6 is set. Within this value the RPM may be
controlled with Byte 7 and 8. The RPM will only be visible/ displayed once the main
motor has reached at least min speed. This is also for the HMI display; at standstill the
value would be e.g. 0%.

5. Byte: \ Actual pressure set value [mbar] / word (16bit) integer

6. Byte: /

7. Byte: \ Actual RPM set value [0,1 %] / word (16bit) integer

8. Byte: / The information [0,1 %] refers to the decimal point. Example: At a speed
demand of 45,8% the value 458 must be transmitted

9. Byte –
