1. General information

1.1. Description

This unit gives technical information about the APC 700 PAN Control
Panel, and APC 700 PAN Control Panel test instructions.

2. APC 700 PAN

2.1. Overview

The APC 700 PAN control panel is used as a basic interface for the
user to see:
status information (ready, run, fault, communication)
fault logger display with 100 events memory
reference values (speed, frequency, torque)
actual values (speed, frequency, torque)
It can be used to control from 1 to 4 DDCs one by one, depending on
the application program. Panel functions are freely programmable.

2.2. Mechanical Description

The APC 700 PAN can be mounted into the cabinet door, into the
control desk or on the wall (by using the assembling box).

2.6. Communication

Panel are connected to and APC board trough multidrop

communication bus. Panel communicate with the APC by Panel
protocol. The protocol is of master -follower type where the APC is
always the master. All communication is initiated by the APC which
cyclically polls the panels. 1-4 panel can be connected to one APC.

Communication bus data:

Communication standard RS 485, differential two wire, half duplex,
multidrop
Baud rate 19200 baud
max lenght 300 m
max nodes 8
updating interval 100ms/2 nodes

2.7. Operating modes

The panel has three operation modes:

− internal mode, to choose a node number and
communication time-out value
− normal mode, includes signal and events displays
(automatically after power up)
− test mode, press buttons PB1, PB5 and connect
power up.

2.7.1 Going to the internal mode

There is a new selection in the internal mode to defining either is it

possible to go to the internal mode as a normal function or should it be
more safety.
The selection will be done with up and down buttons ↑ up arrow (S2),
↓ down arrow (S7). Pressing the button will change the selection.
With the button */R (S6) will be the selection taken to use.
If the access is allowed then the panel will working like in versions 1.00
and 1.01.
If the access is prevent, then it is possible to go to the internal mode
only with the following way:
Switch the panel power off. Press the display exchange button (S1)
while the power will be switched on.

Text of the internal mode:

INT.MODE SELECT Upper line of the display. The valid
selection is on the lower line.
ACCEPTED Lower line of the display, when the
internal mode is allowed
FORBIDDEN Lower line of the display, when the
internal mode prevent.

On the second line will be shown *(asterisk), if the selection on the

screen is also valid.

2.7.2 Automatic leaving from the internal mode

Panel will go automatically from the internal mode to the normal mode if
no buttons will be pressed during 2 minutes. If any of buttons will be
pressed then the new delay counting will be started.

10
3AFE58177580 APC700PAN User’s Manual

2.7.3 Selection of the researching alarms

There is a new selection in the internal mode (this function reguires

APC system software 1.1./0 or later). With it will be selected either to
investigate all or only unacknowledged alarms (functions are same,
which will be chosen in the APC application program with the PANCON
function block with the negative/positive logger number.)
If mode, where all events can be investigated, is selected by panel, it is
not permanent. (With the selected panel mode will be investigated all
alarms, which will show only unacknowledged alarms if no buttons will
be pressed. If any buttons will be pressed then the delay counting starts
from begin. Delay counting will be not done in internal mode.
Selections will be done with up and down buttons. Pressing of the
button will change the selection. Selection will be taken to use with the
button */R (S6).

(The negative logger number has been set in the PANCON function
block. With it will be selected the investigation of all alarms. This will
compensate settings of the panel.)
If the negative logger number has been set in the PANCON function
block, it wins setting of the panel and the investigation of all events is
select.

Texts of the internal mode:

EVENT DISPLAY The upper line of the display. The valid selection
is on the lower liner.
NORMAL When only unacknowledged events will be
shown.
ALL EVENTS When all events will be shown.

On the second line will be shown also *(asterisk), if this selection is

valid.

If the display of all alarms has been selected with the PANCON function
block, ↑ up-, ↓ down and */R buttons has no function and on the display
is permanent text * ALL EVENTS.

6. Using the Parameter Panel

This panel software (made by using type circuits APCPAR, DRPANEL,

DRUSD) is used for setting of APC or drive parameters by the ACV 700
PAN panel. This can, in certain cases, replace the DDCTool and the
FCE during the commissioning. For example a pump drive with a PI-
level control on the APC board can be tuned over the ACV 700 PAN.

The software includes the following functions:

− Read and change values of APC parameters

− Read and change values of pre-programmed drive parameters
− Save the pre-programmed drive parameters on APC flash
− PROM
− Save parameters on DDC EEPROM

The drive types, numbers and the parameter indexes must be defined
in the APC software.

If there is just one panel connected to the APC, the PAR mode is
entered by changing the ID number in the internal mode of the ACV
700 PAN. The ID number of the parameter panel program is a pre-
programmed value in the APC application program (this is normally 10
to 15, since these node numbers do not have a link supervision).
