FAMILY CULTURAL BACKGROUND

• I was born in Lansing, Michigan.

• My parents were also born in
Michigan.
• My ancestors on both my mom
and dad’s side of the family are
from Wales.
• My last name is Enos, which most
people think is Greek, but It is in
fact Welsch.
COMMUNICATION
The primary language in my household growing
up was English. Although, my dad and mom didn’t
conversate all too much. My dad worked a lot
and when he was home, he would work at the
table most of the time. My mom watched a lot
of TV. My sister and I are both outgoing, so we
would hangout together most of the time. She
was my role model and I looked up to her
greatly. My household now consists of both
English and Spanish. My Fiancé is Mexican and
speaks fluent Spanish, so we incorporate both
languages when we communicate. I am now 80%
bi-lingual.
LOCATION
• I grew up in Ingham County, where the
population is 284,034.
• But the city of Holt is only 25,625.
• It was predominately White Americans, with a
small fraction of African Americans and Hispanics.
• The crime rate is low in the area. The community
was tight-knit, but too slow paced for me. I
eventually moved to Las Vegas to be a part of the
big city life. I then went even bigger and moved
to Los Angeles.
FAMILY PASTIMES
• My family wasn’t very large. I only had a
few aunts, uncles, and cousins who I saw
only on major holidays. We would get
together with everyone on Christmas eve
and have a potluck dinner and play games.
On Thanksgiving, I would spend with my
mom’s side of the family eating Turkey,
mashed potatoes, stuffing, and my favorite,
green bean casserole. Now, spending
holidays with my fiancé’s side of the family
on the holidays is what I look forward to
the most. Because I didn’t grow up with a
big family, I intend to create one of my
own.
LIFE CHALLENGES & CRISIS OF 2001
• One of the biggest life crisis I experienced was the
attack on September 11th. I was in 6th grade. I will
never forget the moment I found out that the U.S. was
attacked by a terrorist. I was in my ancient Greece
class with Mrs. Hall and we turned on the tv and
watched the news for the entire hour. • Life Challenges: One major challenge for me was
• I remember going home feeling very unsettled and when my parents were divorced when I was 9.
That took a huge toll on me. I became very angry.
uneasy. I had a lot of questions for my parents. This
I spent one week with my mom and one week
event made me question why people do the things
with my dad. That was until my dad was drunk
they do. What did we ever do to deserve this? How
one night and became aggressive with my sister. I
could people be so cruel? What was going to happen
never stayed with my dad after that. I didn’t grow
next? Am I in danger? Should I live my life scared of
up poor, nor rich, but didn’t go without.
people from other countries?
• It was hard to look at people the middle east the same.
As time went on, and I grew older, I learned that just
because you are from a country that does bad things
or has different values than you, doesn’t mean they are
bad people. I cannot categorize people in the same
group just because of their race or religion.
HOBBIES/SKILLS
• I grew up in dance and cheerleading. I
started cheerleading in 4th grade and
cheered all through my senior year. I am a
upbeat, energetic person and believe that
cheerleading had a lot to do with that.
• I started dance when I was 3 and quit
when I was 10.
• I joined gymnastics when I was a
sophomore, and our team won the state
title.
• I was a member of SADD (Students
Against Drunk Driving).
• I was on the honor roll, and part of the
student council up until high school.
• I also wrote for the school newspaper.
HOBBIES/SKILLS
• I started working when I was 16 at Bob Evans
Restaurant as a waitress. I worked all through
high school while maintaining a 3.5 grade
point average.
• My hard work ethic has carried me all
throughout my life. An example is based on
the job I currently have. I started out as a
Production Assistant (PA) in December 2020,
then moved to key PA in February 2021, then
got promoted to Assistant Production
Coordinator in June 2021, and finally moved
up to Associate Producer in October 2021. In
less than a year I have been promoted 3
times.
• I believe that it is all due to my hard work
ethic.
FUN
ACTIVITIES
• I loved playing videogames like Mario
Brothers. I also loved playing board games.
• I had a lot of other kids that lived in my
neighborhood and enjoyed playing softball
and kickball in the caul de sac.
• Now I love going to bar trivia with my
friends. Working in groups with other
people has made me learn how to be a
team player.
• I always wanted to do acting growing up. I
was in the elementary school plays. When I
graduated and move to Las Vegas I went to
acting school and worked on independent
feature films.
• I learned so much from that experience,
such as time management, focus,
preparation, flexibility.
VALUES/MORALS
• My number one value is to treat others the way you want to
be treated, with respect. When doing so, do not judge people if
they are different than you.
• Being honest is an important value to because I do not like
fake people.
• I think that if you have something to say, don’t’ sugar coat it,
just be respectful in doing so.
• In addition, having manners goes a long way. My mom always
taught me to say please and thank you and be respectful to
everyone, no matter who they are.
RELIGIOUS BELIEFS
• I grew up attending a non-denomination Christian church.
• I went to Sunday school every week, but later stopped attending except
on holidays.
• I believe in God but have a hard time believing in all of the stories that
come along with the Bible.
• My parents are the same as me and maybe that is why.
• We never ate dinner together and said grace, except on holidays.
• We didn’t pray at night.
PREJUDICES
• My grandmother unfortunately was very prejudice. She grew
up with parents were also just as prejudice as her. She would
make comments sometimes about people of other race or
culture and it would make me upset. I always told her not to
say those things. I find it extremely disrespectful and would
never repeat the things I’ve heard her say.
• My mom and dad are the complete opposite. They don’t have
one prejudice bone in their bodies. They always set the
example of treat everyone the same and don’t offend those of
a different race or ethnicity.
• I try not to be biased towards any type of
person, but it can be difficult and
unintentional at times.
• When I love someone, I love them hard, no
matter who they are to me. It can be a
friend, boyfriend, sister, niece, or nephew. I
BIASES will protect them and back them up
whenever I need to.
• That means sometimes I am biased
towards their opinions over others. I try to
keep an open-mind, but sometimes my love
for my friends and family takes over.
PRINCIPLES
• I always live by the motto “seize the day”. I think
everyone should live in the moment.
• Don’t hold on to the past and don’t focus too
much on the future.
• Appreciate what you have in front of you.
• Don’t hesitate to do the things you want, because
tomorrow is never promised.
• Do not consume yourself in technology.
• Lift your head from your phone and appreciate
what is around you.
• Do not settle for a job you hate. Enjoy what you
are doing 99% of your life.
• On the other hand, do something every day that
sucks. It will make you stronger and better for it.
