Yang, Hannah. ProWitingAid. 24 March 2022. Article. 9 May 2022. <https://prowritingaid.com/vowels>.

The main idea of this article is to focus on what vowels are. Vowels are taught throughout

school and are first introduced in kindergarten. The article mentions different ways on how to

pronounce and even provides a table on how your tongue should be positioned when saying a

vowel especially on how your mouth should be shaped. Vowels are used every day in the English

vowel and according to the article we even use it to cry, laugh and even sing and that is correct

because every day we either laugh or cry an even sing (for some people.) For my mentorship my

mentor is a kindergarten teacher, and she has recently taught them Vowels and I noticed some

struggled with it, so for my final project I would like to revisit vowels and using this article can

help.

This source is a well thought out article it has helped me understand more about vowels

even more than whenever I have been taught it was not close to what I’ve read in this article and

the author has done some research herself about what a long vowel is and what a short vowel is

and it even give us a brief history on the word “Vowel’ in which it came from the latin word

“vox”

Main idea of this article was to talk about how important making friends benefits

your lifestyle because having friends helps you be happy and have a healthy friendship, turns out

having friends in school improves grade and helps reduce stress, it even helps people and kids

learn new ideas and gain opinions from others and pursuing goals. There are different types of

friendships one is called regular friends aka buddies these friends often get along really well; the

highest friendship is best friends “besties” these types of friends are always spending time

together there is never a moment in where they are never apart.

This article I choose relates to my mentorship, because I am currently doing my

mentorship at an elementary school with kindergarteners and today was my first day and each

kindergartener has a friend at level 1 because they just met them or they still friends and when it

comes to kids there age around 8-9 I believe making new friends is always the fun part about

elementary school because everyone has their first impression of you and well it is easier asking

friends with them.

How to Teach Vowel Sounds to Kindergartners https://youtu.be/-JPcKieBS_s

This video has helped me give me an idea on how to talk and act when giving a lesson to

kindergartners., because I had no idea how to act in a professional environment with other adults

that have a teaching certificate but after I saw this video I felt comfortable on what to say.
