    1.Difference between Microsoft Word & Notepad


    Microsoft word & Notepad are two software programs used for words processing. The main
    differences between the two are as under:
    Formatting

    Microsoft word is a word process & offers a wide range of formatting and publishing features &
    can create many files. It is a full featured desktop program that allows every facet of the
    document’s appearances and its features.
    While as, Notepad to the contrary is simply a base- bones text processor and limits the
    document’s formatting to font choice & whether or not to wrap the text.

    File types
    Microsoft word can save a document in a wide variety of formats including those of competing
    software products.
    While as, Notepad creates plain text files that contain no hidden formatting commands. This is
    useful for building Documents that are read electronically & would be confused with non- text
    characters.
    Internal vs. External ( Installation)
    Microsoft word is an expensive software package that needs to be licensed & installed on the
    computer system. While as, Notepad is an internal program that is included with every window
    installation. It takes up much less memory & storage than word.
    2. Difference between Computer & Typewriter
    Computer is an electronic machine that accepts, stores and processes the raw data into
    information and where the typing is done on keyboard which is an input device. The text
    thereafter appears on the computer screen. While as, Typewriter is an mechanical device where
    the typing is done on a page through a keyboard which has set of keys. It requires ink through
    the ribbon to generate text.
    Computer includes the edit & delete option so the user can edit or delete the particular texts in
    the document. While as, while using typewriter we cannot edit or delete the text once typed.
    Computer on its own cannot print, it needs an external device to print i.e Printer While as,
    Typewriter is a self- contained printer.
    Formatting, coloring can be done on computer. While as, no formatting colouring can be done
    on Typewriter.
    Computer has an access to internet & can send e-mails. While as typewriters can’t.
    Computer is capable of making calculations and some decisions without the direct input or effort
    of the personal. While as, no matter how advanced the typewriter is, it can never be capable of
    making any kind of calculations.
    Computer can be used for surfing the web, learning, communication, entertainment, etc. While
    as, Typewriters are only used to type things neatly onto a sheet of paper.

    3.Difference between MS- Documentation & Notepad Documentation

    MS- Word Documentation


    • Easier to make document.
    • Document’s can be send electronically.
    • Spelling checking & grammatical mistakes.
    • Inserts images, pictures, tables and art in document.
    • Insert font style, font size, font color to the document.

    Notepad Documentation
    • Simple software that cannot be used to create complex program.
    • Less options like inability to save and support pictures, images.
    • Inability to spell check for errors if any. Hence more possibilities of mistakes.
    • Lacks the inability to notify the users of any error in the code.
    • Cannot insert formatting like MS- Word does.
